Jiguland

I was just going through indie games like I sometimes do, and happen to stumble upon this created-using-paint looking game. It gave me classic rogue-like vibe, and so I gave it a try. The game has weirdly smooth actions that I never seen in any other games and I found myself actually enjoying the challenges I face while exploring its open world. I suggest you give it a try if you are into classic rogue-like games. Cheers!

This game is.... interesting. I'm tempted to refund it, but for now I guess Ill keep it. I mean it is quite cheap. The game is quite ugly. it has some animations, but overall its not super pretty to look at. Considering its genre, a roguelike-Roguelite mix (or so it claims) thats a perfectly alright thing. I dont mind bad graphics if that means amazing gameplay! The biggest issue for me is a total lack of guidance. The game plops you into a random part of town, with no gold and no items. Your mission is to kill the evil guy. Basic stuff. Well, some doors wont open, others lead into empty buildings, and the town itself has shopkeepers, a "tip" NPC, and soldiers. First I did the tutorial, which is quite nice and adequately explains the base controls. Thats it though- skills, how you get them, alchemy, and tons of other things that you'll find in the world arent even described in the tutorial. After that I started searching around. All I could find in town was a stool to fight with. I died a few times trying to attack soldiers to steal their sword. I then found a sewer, where I was insta-killed by a spider. I then left the town to the south, and got murdered by 3 bandits. I then l…

I love this game It feels like a classic ye olde video game, you are thrown into a completely unknown world with nothing but the basics, and it is up to you entirely to learn the game and how it works, from little things like getting enough gold to start a good run or item locations, to whole unknown game mechanics which can be uhh "used" to benefit from hehe. So far, 10 hours in, I don't feel like I am anywhere near to winning and not even close to mastery, but this game makes you feel like a master at every little improvement. Items are varied perfectly, most niches are filled but there is not an oversaturation, feels kind of like exiled kingdoms instead of borderlands, which is really nice. Really decent variance of enemies and monsters to fight too. Npc dialogue could be a bit better, but at the same time the barebones-ness of it really suits the whole "find stuff out yourself" theme of the game. Combat is deceptively simple, some enemies are really difficult up until you learn how to beat them, which adds to the whole mastery aspect of the game. Can't wait to keep playing.
