Posting this in light of the recent layoffs at Supermassive Games. This game deserves more attention and sales. Directive 8020 is a good game. If you enjoy the kind of narrative-heavy low-gameplay games that Supermassive Games makes, there's a good chance you will enjoy this for a certain price. If you like exploring the narrative trees, this is the absolute best "Dark Pictures" to date for that. They make it super easy to jump around and do a "what-if scenario". The voice acting is pretty bad, but I enjoyed the variety of personalities and overall thought the story was one of the strongest from Supermassive. It's not perfect, but I'm not going to dunk on Directive 8020 for having room for improvement. A lot of love is poured into the Dark Pictures games. They're not for everyone, but they might be for you.

SPOILERS Directive 8020 is a good game. I enjoyed playing it. There were some annoying moments at times, but I still had a good time. It is well-optimized. My only regret is that there weren't more QTEs compared to the stealth sections. Stealth was a cool mechanic. I enjoyed it but it would have been nice to have more QTEs. In my opinion, the game's plot was excellent. I enjoyed the whole story as well as the references to *House of Ashes*. I forgot to mention the Curator; it’s a shame he didn’t appear between the chapters—perhaps because the actor passed away :c . I did notice, however, that he shows up in the background during certain segments of the game, and there’s a puzzle involving him to unlock something—but I won’t say any more so I don’t spoil it for anyone. I RECOMMEND!

Suprisingly good. Would be better as a TV show tho.

Great story and characters, love the turning point feature. Though agree with many others that the stealth sections were not fun/too frequent. The final chapter was a bit more QTE focused, which was more fun and exciting. Very excited for the next game.

Excellent interactive survival horror movie. Amazing graphics, but using a 4090 with everything on max and DLAA, getting around 110 FPS. I dont understand the 72 meta score... Have some balls, play it on lethal QTE's the first go around and schwack some characters! NO REWINDS

I've played all the Dark Pictures games to date and genuinely enjoyed this one. My partner and I played it together over a few sessions and just finished up. While the stealth sections were plentiful they did add tension to the gameplay beyond QTEs. The characters were well done and I enjoyed the dynamics they had going for this entry. I think I enjoyed this one a lot more then Little Hope or Man of Medan. Overall a fun experience and I enjoyed the story a lot. Definitely didn't see the twist coming even as we were trying to piece together what it could be.
