About KABUKI FIRE

Welcome to KABUKI FIRE! Every year, during the peak of the rainy season, the world's best shooters gather on an zombie infested island, to participate in a lethal challenge. Armed with a set of pistols, participants are locked inside an abandoned village, to fight hordes of fiercely attacking creatures like Kabuki Dragons and Zombie Mosquitoes. One of the contestants is young yakuza Kamoku Shimazu. Driven by desire to revenge her beloved father's death, she enters the competition to win the trust of the crime lord, who once ordered the assassination.Test your reflexes and precision in this quirky hand-painted 2D shoot 'em up. The goal is to score points by shooting enemies and bonus objects within a time frame of action-packed 7 minutes plus bonus time. Climb up the high-score table and reach the rank of black belt (or maybe even one of the legendary red belts!). As the time counter progresses, your enemies are getting more aggressive and are furiously throwing dragon fire and zombie slime at you. Although you have unlimited ammo at your disposal, you are required to reload your gun regularly! Some enemies leave bonus objects in the arena after they vanish. These bonuses can be cached and stored in the inventory for strategic use or released immediately as they appear. The arsenal of bonuses include...
• Chain Bomb
• Mighty Hammer
• Ice Golem
• Razor Blades
• Rockets
• Plasma Storm
• Distracting Doll
• and many more!
• Unique hand-painted art-style!
• Many bonus objects!
• 1 large arena full of visual details!
• Martial arts style belt grading system!
• Achievements and global leaderboards!
• Immersive atmosphere!
• 3 difficulty levels!
• Great for testing and training your reflexes!

I won this game through an email event, and thought i'd give it a shot as I love arcade games and on-rails shooters. Having played for several hours now, I can truly say it is addicting, and i neglected my job for it. The simplicity of dodging with your mouse is a true joy, especially when you're approaching the finish line and the adrenaline makes your hands shake, then feeling the relief of having survived to the end. That being said it can be frustrating at times. There is an element of luck to the game with what power ups you get but this can be mitigated with better mouse motion over time. Early on, whilst your learning, the frustration will kick in, especially when you keep dying to bullets off screen. Sound queues do help in making it fair though! As I played more, I realised it's more well balanced than I expected, especially as you navigate how to use power ups to maximise score better. It's a recommend from me! I would love to see further development either through sequels or add-on content.

The game is functional and looks nice but only has 1 level. You also can't shoot anything in the background. I only paid about $1 for it so i'ed say this is a neutral though there's not much to keep you playing outside a high score. Gameplay The game scrolls back and forth loading enemies for you to shoot. As you shoot them shootable items and power ups will pop out of them. Power ups when shot will explode or launch things around the screen to take out enemies though some have coins you can shoot or shields that can't be shot through. Enemies will try to shoot or charge at your crosshair. You can do this until you deplete your energy then the 1 level ends. It's cheap but very forgettable. The 1 level can be fun so you'll have to decide if it's worth it for you.

Right from the start, KABUKI FIRE grabs attention with its utterly unique and bright hand-painted visual style. It’s undeniably eye-catching and "crazy, but with some taste," though enemy detail is more functional than intricate. Don't expect to understand what's happening immediately – reading the description and in-game info is essential, as the core goal isn't instantly clear. The core gameplay loop – 5 minutes of frantic point-scoring – delivers genuine intensity. Controlling your character solely with the mouse feels intuitive and works well, but you’re constantly juggling enemy destruction with precise dodging of their accurate shots. The bonus system (Chain Bomb, Ice Golem, Plasma Storm) adds strategic layers, once you realize you can save them in your inventory. However, some bonus effects feel too similar, lessening their individual impact. Be warned: This game is HARD. The difficulty ramps up aggressively, flooding the screen with enemies and projectiles. This quickly leads to visual overload, making navigation tough. Crucially, there’s no difficulty setting, and reaching the end of the level feels "p…
