Story
It has been 100 years since the beginning of the global war...
A dreadful worldwide conflict which has shown no sign of abating for its entire duration.
Eventually armed robots took the place of soldiers on both sides, propelling warfare as we knew it into further and further extremes of ceaseless destruction. These robots begin to self reproduce. Building their own only to be shot down by their own again...
People began to question whether this cycle of production and destruction would continue indefinitely.
Amid this endless loop of chaos however, one robot boldly raised their voice and said...
"Hey, who ate my pudding?”
Characters
Ohka The block-headed and highly dispensable mass-produced robot fighter named after the Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka
Umeka The sensitive crybaby humanoid attack fighter.
Aya The cool-headed pudding loving tactician. Always has a comeback for the others' buffoonery.
Tsubame Aya's short but loyal comrade.
Zero The mysterious robot girl who holds the key to changing the tide of the war.System

Game of the year candidate. The graphics are a bit ropey, mainly the anti-aliasing on sprite rotation, and the backgrounds could have done with another parallax layer and a bit more dynamism. I also felt like the levels could have been arranged into a more coherent structure, and a couple of the music tracks were a bit grating. However, the writing is surprisingly intelligent, the gameplay is original and fun, the character designs are cute, the use of dozens of weird historical weapon design is perfect for the theme, and the idea is just brilliant. I will watch this developer with great interest in the future.3 found this helpful
Brilliant Very fun game and its concept really works. I was a bit dubious at first with the idea of kamakazees and infinite lives but the demo convinced me so I bought it. It's all about building combos for score. The game is very fun just played for survival though too.Many strats available with weapon choice and when to kamikazee , or not (if you have the choice!). Imagine if Nier Automata was a series of military girl comedy sketches, with all kinds of deep cut military hardware for you military otaku to laugh about. The main character is named after the kamikaze human-guided bomb, the Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka. Consider that this weapon was called the "Baka Bomb" by the Allied forces. It is a delightful game. Charming little shmup with a unique mechanic. getting a good chain going feels pretty good, with some polish i think this game could be really great, but for now its just pretty solid.1 found this helpful
