Akuma's Bloodrain

In the description I read "a fast-paced boomer shooter inspired by the classics DOOM and Shadow Warrior" and got excited, but seemingly didn't let this part linger in my mind long enough: "prepare yourself to face hordes of akumas/yokais that are attacking and creating chaos in your village." I didn't think it was going to be much like either of those '90s classics for a mere five bucks, but really it's nothing like them at all. Akuma's Bloodrain is a horde/arena shooter, that frequently used genre in the Steam bargain bin I'm rarely a fan of. At least there are a few things going for this one over some others, like the ability to shoot or slash, and you can also jump, dash, and jump-dash. Aim is crucial as the more enemy you have in your reticle, the more damage it takes. Also at the end of every wave you can choose to replenish health, shield, or just go straight to the portal for extra score. These things set it apart from the pack a little. Runs well enough with a fair amount of graphics and control options. Eu me diverti bastante jogando Akuma Bloodrain. Os controles são bem responsivos, e sair dando dashes enquanto acerta as garras nos Akumas é extremamente satisfatório. A sensação de progressão é ótima, e a dificuldade está bem balanceada. Com certeza recomendo para quem gosta de jogos de ação com movimentação rápida. Fiquei um pouco confuso com os leaderboards no início, mas depois entendi que eles consideram o desempenho no jogo como um todo então, quanto mais fases você completa com boa pontuação, mais você sobe no ranking. Destaque também para os feedbacks dos ataques: tanto eliminar inimigos com um único tiro quanto com as garras é muito satisfatório. Ah e o mapa das fases é lindo! Parabéns ao artista! O que eu mais curti? Encher a fase de sangue!!!

Fun game -- worth the $5 asking price. Fun gameplay. I like the art a lot and maps. I think the game needs more gun and weapon options, and frankly not sure why the health and armor options were spawning so far away from end portal. Other than that, really fun game

Simple and charming game that's easy to pick up and hard to master. I enjoyed this one so much that it's turned me on to boomer shooters, which isn't a genre I was ever interested in before. Got it for the art style and stayed for the bloodshed. One of my proudest 100%s of 2026 so far tbh. I bought the developer's whole bundle, and I'm looking forward to trying the rest out!

A perfect combination of melee and shooting, the fast-paced gameplay delivers a great dose of adrenaline, with plenty of action and gore. The visual style also hooked me from the start, and with very intuitive controls, I was able to have a solid experience right away.

Im very honest with my reviews as i got this game through a key from the dev! BUT that will not throw my review at all ///// I only played this game for an hour (recorded the whole thing almost cause when i was done playing i wanted to keep going to get the badges and such) and I will say this about it, I have never liked the old doom esc games but this one adds such fun elements to it like wall jumping the cook slicing and stuff its fast paced all the way through bloody and just a straight up frenzy! Its worth the price tag all day for this game :) runs flawlessly, one thing id like to see is maybe a return to menu screen? unless i missed it.. which i couldve haha GREAT game though!
