"Keeper's Curse" is (as far as I can tell) one of literally thousands of student projects infesting Steam. While student projects tend to be better quality than most "amateur" made games, we must still question what value such projects have for gamers. As with all student projects, this isn't really a fully fleshed out game, it's just the result of an academic exercise, and as such it has much more limited value as a game than a professionally developed game would have. Educational institutions should not be using Steam as a dumping ground for homework assignments (especially if the students didn't even pass the course). Sure, it helps their marketing and helps the students feel good about themselves, but this is another case of a business putting themselves before the needs of gamers. Keeper's Curse is a small, unambitious and not all that amazing third person brawler (not very much shooting, despite the sales blurb), with a rather poor perspective/camera position, clunky gameplay and a somewhat hard to engage theme. You're a scuba diver stranded on a mysterious island, facing relentless cursed creatures. The story revolves around the island's cursed inhabitants and the tra…

Fun bit of indie fluff to kill half an hour with. You're a smug diver who narrates everything in the typical indie-dev voice (you know the one) Fight fish dudes and fix bridges and generators to escape! ...and grab some dead guys diary pages while you're at it. There's three types of enemies: Basic Anglerfish guys, Seahorse guys with a ranged attack (who run from you if you get too close) And Turtle guys who charge at you, taking any of them out drops wood/rope (for repairing bridges), and occasionally ammo. There's several weapons, but you can only hold two, so make sure you keep a melee weapon in case you run out of ammo. The "No Diving" sign was the best, even tho it's slow and has a weird hit zone, it takes enemies out in one hit. You can probably clear just with the starting knife if you're careful. The game is a little....maybe "buggy" isn't the right word...."shaky" I guess? like I mentioned with the weapons, there's weird hit zones sometimes. You character jostles around a lot like he's about to clip thru the map (never did) and there was one area behind a shack where the graphics freaked out significantly...but none of this really affected the gameplay. After power…
