Kid Pilot has some has a great premise... it is an accessible version of VR flight. The levels are well designed and the graphics are cute. When it is running well, this is a great game. However the game needs some severe optimizations. I am running a 4090 and an 9800 X3D processor. The game goes from silky smooth frames down to make you sick to your stomach frame rates. It is a shame that this needs more time in the oven. I use a quest 3. I primarily use VR via Virtual Desktop, but I tried using this with the link cable and had the same variability of frames. I like this game and hope that one day someone will either figure out the issue or the company will release a patch. This game reminded me of pilot wings from back in the nintendo 3DS era. Give it a try. Maybe it is a weird hardware combo on my end that makes the frames so inconsisten.

Kid Pilot, developed and published by Flamingo Simulation Systems, is a VR flight experience that centers less on realism and more on capturing a very specific feeling—the childhood act of pretending a toy plane is soaring through endless imaginary worlds. It doesn’t position itself as a simulator in the traditional sense, nor does it aim for mechanical complexity. Instead, it builds its identity around physical interaction, accessibility, and a sense of playful immersion that makes flying feel immediate and intuitive. The most defining aspect of the game is its control scheme. Rather than relying on conventional inputs, you guide your aircraft through motion-based gestures, tilting and moving your hands as if you were holding a small plane. This design creates a direct connection between player and movement, making the act of flying feel tactile and natural. There’s a simplicity to it that lowers the barrier to entry, allowing players to grasp the basics almost instantly, but it still demands a degree of precision as the challenges become more complex. Mastery comes not from memorizing controls, but from refining your physical coordination. Progression unfolds through a series o…

Really nice game, the feeling of flying is something different in this game entirely. Very relaxing. The levels are built interestingly, with speed, exploration and also puzzle elements. I wish there would be an endless level like there was at the beginning. Just flying through hoops above the clouds. I could do that for hours. Now that I think of it, I think it would be a good idea to have three difficulty levels per stage. Because some things are pretty hard and if you crash you have to start from the beginning. PS pro tip: you need a chair that can spin 360 degrees, because otherwise you need to stand to be able to do a quick turn. Just by sitting in one direction, I don't think you can do a full turn...

After 2.5 hours of play time, I just gave up at the final boss battle. At least an hour of that time was just on the final boss. It is way too difficult. It is part skill and luck to kill him. If they made a continue point at the third stage then I would have kept at it but to keep going through the first and second stages again and again makes it too frustrating to enjoy. Beyond that, the graphics are messed up no matter if I try Quest Link, Steam Link or Virtual Desktop. There is a "fiix/workaround" for the head stutter which you can find in the discussions page. When you see that only 4% of the players made it to the end stage, then you know something is wrong with the game. They really need to add a difficulty select or at least checkpoints at certain areas of the game. This seems like a good kids game but the difficulty is geared more towards hard core gamers. If they ever fix the graphics issues and have some sort of difficulty setting, I would recommend it. But as is, it just isn't worth playing at any price. It is also very short. If you are very good, you can complete it in 2 to 3 hours (maybe even faster).

Unplayable on Index Sorry can't recommand this yet even though it looks fun and sweet, it's really vomit inducing on Valve Index. It feels like you're on a weird inverted 3dof view and also if you move your hand your the head also move a bit I dunno. Anyway don't buy if you wanna play it on index. Will wait DEV answer before refunding it
