Drone Hero is a focused, skill-driven action game that centers entirely on the joy and challenge of piloting a high-speed drone through tightly designed obstacle courses. Built with virtual reality as its primary platform but also playable on a standard screen, the game aims to translate the sensation of real drone flight—momentum, inertia, and spatial awareness—into an accessible yet demanding arcade experience. Rather than offering a sprawling world or layered systems, it commits to a clear fantasy: mastering precise flight under pressure. At the heart of the experience is the flight model, which strikes a careful balance between realism and playability. The drone responds convincingly to thrust, tilt, and directional input, meaning that speed and control must be managed thoughtfully rather than brute-forced. Sudden movements carry momentum, sharp turns require anticipation, and maintaining a smooth line through tight spaces becomes a learned skill. I don't normally write reviews, however, this game deserves it. TLDR this game is a 9/10 easy and the fact that it is currently a .99usd game at the time of writing this makes it an 11/10 game EASY! The length, I think, is the reason it's .99usd, but that is pure speculation. What isn't speculation is how amazing your experience will be in just the first five minutes of playing the game. The control is top notch, I can play it sitting on my couch with 0 issues, and the responsiveness to movement is near perfect. The visuals are great, tunes catchy, and the levels are so simple, yet astounding to play. I would easily have given this game a 10 if it weren't for the length. Maybe I haven't played long enough to see more but I only saw 30ish levels and although the game is highly replay able, it still comes off a little short. That is my only gripe and if you have read this far, you should have bought this gem already!
Great game for steam deck.
Doesn't work with a drone controller (BetaFPV). No settings/options menu to attempt to manage this. Can't progress through tutorial with keyboard. Unable to exit without ALT-F4. Unfortunately I left this in my library for more than two weeks which apparently means Steam won't refund me, so now I'm stuck with this pos in my library forever.
Hidden Gem :)
a nice short arcade game for VR. very cool gameplay design, and only lasts about an hour. some of the levels are annoying but overall a fun game
