"Kidz" is a weird one, a game based on a Taiwanese TV show, and, well, there are some examples of games based off TV shows that worked well (heaps of great Star Trek games on Steam, the South Park games, and of course, Defiance, may she rest in peace). This is not one of those games... a simple 2D action brawler/adventure game with a weird convoluted plot and enemies that are either bugged or just placed in a downright malicious way... this ain't fun. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. This game is fairly dated at 7 years old... it's showing a bit of age and won't give you a very up-to-date gaming experience. On the matter of pricing and value for gamers, most "free" games on Steam aren't really free. Kidz is a good casual horror game, now this is the part where I talk about the story a bit, but the game is an anthology so I won't go into the story too much like I do with my other reviews, the story for this game is children trying to survive in a cruel world. Okay then now the likes, the stories are really good, like I said this is an anthology, so I will be going over each episode starting with the first one. But before that I'll say my general view of all three stories is very good and I love how it talks about the themes of abuse and societal pressures even talking a little bit about eugenics which was quite surprising. [spoiler] Now episode one is pretty good, I like how it talks about abuse by putting way too much pressure on a child and how it can affect them both physically and mentally. The endings were good and I loved the good ending and the bad ending for the stamp path, especially the bad ending as it felt like something from tales from the crypt. Episode 2 was quite good as you get to have two stories the first story about a mom trying to figure out why her daughter ran away is good, I especially loved the good ending it was quite heartbreakingly beautiful.
