KIDS

This will probably be my most pretentious negative review ever, but I feel like KIDS functions better as both a museum exhibit with its accompanying art installation or a short film submitted to film festivals than it does as a game that you buy and play on your home computer. I both appreciate the artistry that went into this project while also believing that it doesn't really "work" as something I put in my Steam library. Not when the underlying message feels like a superficial commentary on societal peer pressure walking the same well-trodden roads as a school's D.A.R.E. program or an afternoon Nick show.

This spoke to me on so many levels

A simple yet elegant click adventure with social commentary. There is not too much depth to the story, but on the surface it is worthy the 20-30 minutes it takes to get through on the first playthrough. There is not much replayability (tasks, achievements, goals), but for a single playthrough it is worth a couple of bucks.

very unique and short but very nice for people who are bored and need a different experience from games

This game changed my life. It rekindled my relationship with my kids after years of grueling separation, and convinced me that maybe... just maybe... everything will be ok. 6/10
