About The Writ

Your perilous journey into the dark and hostile kingdom is driven by a direct command known as The Writ. This decree, freshly penned by the King of the World of Brightness, is a personal order with a clear and urgent purpose. The King, troubled by reports of increasing unrest and ominous signs from the World of Darkness, has issued The Writ to his most trusted warrior: You.

The Writ outlines a mission of utmost importance. The King, fearing an imminent invasion from the shadowy realm, has commanded You to cross into the World of Darkness and eliminate the perceived threat at its source. Bound by duty and loyalty, You accept The Writ without hesitation. You know the gravity of the King’s words and the trust placed in You. However, as You venture deeper into the dark kingdom, You begin to encounter things that The Writ did not fully prepare You for...

In The Writ, You will engage in intense hack&slash combat, utilizing a variety of melee weapons and combat techniques to overcome relentless enemies. Puzzles will challenge You to navigate through the shadowy realm, revealing hidden paths and secrets. As You progress, You will face moral choices that will not only affect Your journey but also the ultimate outcome of the story. The Writ is clear in its intent, but as You fight Your way through the darkness, You are forced to confront the possibility that there may be more to this mission than simply following orders. The truth behind the King’s decree and the real nature of the enemy becomes a puzzle You must solve, even as You fulfill the letter of The Writ.

Nice plot and atmosphere, but still a little raw. A lot of work ahead, but I can see some potential. Waiting for release and new updates. Gonna play it when it’s done surely. Good enough for game developed by one person

This game delivers a solid and engaging experience from start to finish. The core gameplay is well-designed, intuitive, and rewarding, making it easy to get into while still offering enough depth to stay interesting over time. Controls feel responsive, and the overall pacing keeps the experience smooth and enjoyable

(outdated review, not removing it as a precaution) Don't realease a game into the market if there's no content in it The game can be beaten in approximately 5 minutes by spamming shift to dash to the end The game fails to do what it's trying to achieve, the pixel art style is too pixelated to actally see anything as you play, the "light and dark kingdoms" just look like if my monitor broke, and don't say they are supposed to be completly devoid of any colour, you have red and yellow in the game too Proper story telling is *show, not tell.* Instead of it everythng is in dialogue, there also is a whole bunch of posters on trees saying the same thing over and over again Game mechanics are nowhere explained and in fact key binds are hidden by being called "hints", at first I though my game crashed before I realised I have to use numbers for dialogue *even if there's only a signle option* The block button doesn't work half the time, not that you can even block with how fast all of the attacks are, the "bottle (of rage)" item doesn't work half the time either and with how hard it is t fight the enemys the bandages should heal way more, same with campfires healing a *measly 1%hp per 2…
