L-Way

[i]Game provided for Curator review[/i] L-Way is not just another maze game - it's all about the puzzles. Hit round symbols to add or remove blockades, plus teleport, shrink yourself and speed around as needed in order to find your way to the exit 'N'. Finding and creating your path is the real goal. Traverse the labyrinth using the arrow keys or your controller, but be aware that you need to click with the mouse in order to start a new level... Otherwise you'll just end up staring at a roman numeral indefinitely ;p (Partial controller-support) The most noticeable aspect of the game is the music. It's absolutely beautiful. Don't like mazes or puzzles? Get the game just for the soundtrack, it's that pretty. L-Way is a solid - albeit short (2/3 through at the time of this review) - puzzle game that is absolutely worth checking out. Recommended!

I perfected this game out of spite. It's terrible. Kinda janky sometimes. And everything looks the same; there's like no color. Getting a headache remembering it.

The concept is simple, but a bit too simple. The controls are clunky and make moving around far too tedious. I see no reason that this game needs to have physics, and it's only caused problems in my experience with the game. (In some cases, when you combine the speed-up power with one of the walls that moves up and down, you can clip off an edge and jump over the outer wall of the maze). I only got halfway through the game, but I saw nothing promising in it that compelled me to continue. There could be some interesting concepts in the mazes with the buttons that raise/lower walls (I actually quite liked how some buttons controlled multiple types of walls, that was clever!), but the fact that it was packaged as a ball-rolling game took away most of that enjoyment for me.

Poor controls and unclear where you can and cannot go. This would have been great as a 2D game, the 3D makes it jankey. Also, for such a minimal game, it chews up CPU and GPU.

Minimilistic maze/puzzle game where you direct a ball through a maze, with various buttons that change the maze or your ball. Relaxing, but short. I liked the music, as it added to the relaxing factor of the game. For me, I'd almost label L-Way as a kind of therepy. I'd see it being more useful as a relaxing distraction, with "excercise your brain" qualities, rather than thinking of it as a game. But it also is a game, since it has actions to take, to reach a goal... it's just so minimalistic, it makes my brain wrestle with how to define it. L-Way would be the perfect game to share with a child, to show them the basics of what a PC game can be, but would be even better as a game to present to someone elderly, who didn't grow up with games. It would do well in an educational setting with younger children, or in a brain excercise and cognative ability …

Overall a great puzzle game. I love the look and the music sets a great relaxing tone while rolling around in the mazes. The only complaint is that once the mazes got difficult, I physically couldn't find a way to progress. If there could be a tutorial or something to help explain what you need to do, that would help clear a lot of things up. I give it a 9.5/10
