About Lands of Rumour
EXPLORE NEW LANDS
Find your way through the clouds and look for the richest places. There are mountain ranges and plentiful valleys, but also enemies in the mist.
DEVELOP VILLAGES AND TERRAIN
Gather people to create new villages, but the choice of their development will be crucial. You can even change the tiles themselves, which will be useful both during manoeuvres and construction.HIDE IN THE SHADOWS
Hide from your enemies so your small settlements can survive. Plan where and when your units will be seen to control the conflict.CHOOSE YOUR BATTLES
Not all places can be defended, and sometimes, it is better just to let go. Move on, defeat enemies in key places and win!Features:
- highly tactical combat without RNG, with several distinct units
- classical elements of a 4X: exploration, expansion, exploitation and extermination, served in a minimalistic manner
- no "solved case" syndrome
- innovative position of a low-power empire

Players are divided on this strategy game. Those enjoying it praise the attractive art style, calming atmosphere, and engaging 4X-style gameplay with interesting mechanics like rumors and conspiracy elements, while appreciators note you can adjust difficulty. However, critics point to amateur execution issues including tutorial glitches, grammar errors, poor sound settings implementation, and a confusing design choice where unit and building functions are explained only through poetic descriptions rather than clear tooltips, alongside complaints that slow unit movement makes gameplay feel tedi
3/10 -an all around amateur game. This doesn't belong on steam for the price of $10 ($8.50 on sale). This dev should be showing their work to more experienced devs and getting feedback, not trying to sell it yet. -tutorial glitched on me and stopped giving me prompts, had to restart it. Grammar errors in tutorial. -sound effect when placing a building didn't respect sound settings. Blasting my eardrums out every time I place a building. -no unit or building description in the game actually tells you what it does, the game expects you to read poetry in italics and guess from the poems what the units and buildings do. Definitely an artistic choice, but not a good one. -units moving one tile a turn is pretty boring. +strategic elements seemed interesting, but I didn't get far enough to see them in action.3 found this helpful

Nice little game, I really like the art style and simple ambient soundtrack which complements the game well. The gameplay is very engaging. As a 4X enjoyer, I feel that I'll spend countless hours playing this gem :)1 found this helpful
Not good. Not bad. Just mediocre at best. I give it a 6/10.
Had fun playing this game, nice graphics, calming sound. Really liked the rumours and conspiracy elements.
Nice game with simple and pretty graphics. Seems quite hard but you can set your own difficulty level. Definitely engaging. Recommend!
