About Lantern

“Once upon a time, there was a very sad princess. She felt so unloved and unhappy, that everything around her became grey and lifeless and the entire land was deprived of its color and joy. Our fable begins when a single, lonely lantern was lit in a faraway village…”
Be the wind and guide a beautiful sky lantern that spreads the powerful message of everlasting love, by bringing life and color back to the world around you. Enjoy four beautiful Asian-inspired worlds, each with a different theme, nature and architecture. Spread vibrant, happy colors through grey and lifeless lands by flying over them as a red, light-emitting lantern.
The influence of the lantern’s light not only changes the color of the world, but also produces various additional effects, such as turning other lamps on, bringing animals to life, and making windmills start spinning. You’ll ultimately succeed once the kingdom is full of color and happiness has returned to the land.
- Bring the powerful message of everlasting love to four Asian-inspired worlds
- Create wonderful lantern festivals by spreading warmth and joy
- Restful music and peaceful sounds will accompany you on your journey towards happiness
- Immerse yourself in a relaxing experience, like a virtual coloring book with an aesthetic atmosphere
- Virtual reality support (Oculus Rift and HTC Vive)
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
Yes, this game DOES INDEED work on the Meta Quest 3 using link cable on Windows 11. However, motion controllers are not supported. You have to use a gamepad (Xbox One Controller). Make sure your gamepad is enabled in Steam VR. I had a heck of a time getting the game to recognize my controller for some reason. Is it worth the effort? Probably not. The game is exactly like the store page video. That either appeals to you or it doesn't. I don't know, I found the game more annoying than relaxing. It was a close call. However, after finishing the first season (I think it was Spring), I don't want to do the other 3 seasons. I have better games to play. You basically just fly around and make sure you find the stones with the writing and make sure you paint enough of the area to get the tower lit up. You get two different animations when you've completed the stone and the area colored well-enough. This lets you know you can go on to the other area. I just found it too tedious. The visuals aren't the best either, not in 2025 at least. Rate 5/10.
I bought this game! If you enjoyed my review, please consider joining my Steam Curator…5 found this helpful
Janky visuals, uneasy control on joypad, scenery-coloring gameplay.2 found this helpful
Nice music, controls feel OK and the graphics are pretty enough. I'd love this game but for one thing. Where is the save game option?? I want a game like this that I can pick up and put down. There's no deep story line or cuts scenes. It's just a nice Zen game to fly around and paint the world in colour. What a shame I played for 15 minutes and I had to exit out and when I came back later, I was back at the beginning. Take Cloud Punk, when you exit out, you come back in where you left off. Fantastic. Why can't all games be like this?? I am so disappointed with the lack of save options so asking for a refund already.2 found this helpful
