About Lantern of Worlds - Storybook
'Lantern of Worlds - Storybook' is a collection of adventure games and stories set in the Lantern of Worlds universe.
Story
The kingdom of Idunia is in turmoil. Dark forces gather in secluded forests, in mountain deeps, in shadowy swamps, and spin the treads of a great web of deceit and betrayal.
King Valdemar has called upon the heroes of the land to go forth and seek out the evil that grows within, and meet it with sword and shield, with spell and staff, with great determination.
And you are one such hero. But are you destined to become to greatest hero of the land? To be immortalized in song and story, in the memories of a thousand generations?
Or will you fall into darkness, yield before the enemy, and rise a shadowy reflection of yourself, a blight upon the land?
Only time will tell.

Its very basic but it has an nice story, and good voice sound dialouges. I played it trough in one hour. I like it a lot and will give it a try to the other Lantern of Worlds games.5 found this helpful
This is a great game! The graphics look outdated and I was sceptical about picking it up. But I'm glad I did. It's got a good story and gameplay. You need to read the conversations and do the quests, as needed. The map has a pointer to help you decide where to go. There isn't much grind which was a welcome change from the usual RPG grinding in most games.1 found this helpful

"Lantern of Worlds - Storybook" is RPG Maker garbage, but it looks like the developer did the almost-right thing and didn't flip any RPG Maker assets or try to make yet another Final Fantasy 1 ripoff about his imaginary anime girlfriend (seriously, most RPG Maker asset flips on Steam are about the developers imaginary anime girlfriend, it's weird). Instead we get an almost authentic looking retro adventure game where you click through a bunch of badly written dialogue and do some other RPG-like minigame kinda activities which thankfully can be clicked through in about an hour, and when one of the best things anyone can say about your product is that it's short, spending $100 on Steam Direct may not be the best course of action. What do you do in the game? The idea is that the Kingdom of Idunia (idunnoia) is menaced by dark forces or whatever so you need to click on a bunch of stuff and read some really cringey writing to make it go away. I appreciate the somewhat more earnest attempt to recreate a retro gaming feel here, but you know those old games this is badly aping still exist, and my advice for people who want that retro nostalgia should go and play the originals.
