"Exploring the diverse facets of laughter inspired by the theme, our team discussed various ways and meanings of smiling, embarking on a journey to dissect its complexities. We pondered the nuances of genuine laughter born from humor and joy, juxtaposed with the façade of artificial smiles often worn in social settings or to mask inner turmoil. Our exploration led us to the perspective of a middle-class worker facing the imminent threat of job loss. In this narrative, we unveiled different kinds of smiles: the obligatory smile in the presence of superiors, the strained smiles concealing stress, and the genuine moments of joy shared with loved ones, such as his daughter.
Our main goal is to discover the multifaceted nature of smiles and delve into broader societal themes. Through gameplay, we aim to provoke contemplation on labor challenges and the pervasive drinking culture prevalent in China."

"LaughterLost" is a student project from USC. One of the first things students should be taught in game development is that 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid 1990's with dedicated 3D cards like the Voodoo3 and the ATI Rage. But the students were deliberately mistaught that's it's okay to release obsolete 2D games in the 3D era of gaming... certainly any professional developer seeing a prospective new hire who doesn't even know about 3D gaming probably isn't going to give them a job. Needless to say if an educational institution taught me incorrectly on purpose, I'd ask for my money back. So looking at this student project, I'm pretty sure the students didn't pass the course. This is, well, while it's artistically comical enough to maybe exhale through your nostrils firmly, almost nothing in terms of what gamers expect from a modern video game. It's a point and click/drag and drop puzzle "adventure" where you deal with surreal and, I guess Kafka-esque workplace scenarios with a bunch of what I guess could be called furries, Terry Gilliam style cartoons of office people with animal heads. The art style is wryly amusing, but like I said, we're here for video games. This…1 found this helpful
really short but fun game to play unique art style and puzzle could do with a few more levels or some more things to do in the office but still really fun even tho, im still lost to as what i just played
I'm not a fan of Puzzle games, but I love the art-style and music of this game! Very unique and "trippy" in a sense. I highly recommend it.
A unique style coupled with a quirky sense of dry humor make me keen to recommend this game. It's quite short but worth the experience.
This game was Immaculate and to my sigma taste, really made my rotting brain captivated and determined. 10/10 big booms.
