[h1]Legend of Persia[/h1] [i]Delusions of grandeur[/i] [b]Legend of Persia[/b] is an isometric ARPG that appears to have somehow made it out of the gate by a development team who don't seem to understand the first thing about what makes a game successful within this genre. It is remarkably crude when it comes to gameplay with a level design that borders on incompetent. It's visually unappealing with zero character development or narrative to draw the player in and make them care about what they are doing in this world. Thankfully it's mercifully short but I can't see the average gamer outside of the obsessive achievement hunters actually bothering with it. There is a reason this is sitting with only a 6% positive user rating here on Steam and that is because it's a hot mess. There are so many other things you could be doing with your valuable and precious time than wasting it on this one. Awful, but still better than Diablo IV.

"Legends of Persia" is an older game from 2014. It's a venerable 10 years old at the time of this review. It's also incredibly, laughably bad in quality. But not like your usual amateur/indie game is bad just because the developer was, well, amateur and thus not a professional game developer. This looks like it was built by professional developers who didn't have any budget, competent management, enough time to make the game, and care factor. It's really bad. Sometimes with a defective game it's easy to put your finger on the defects, like crappy pixel art, locked resolution, construction kit game like RPG Maker or GameGuru, asset flips, mobile apps and so on. Here it's just a whole collection of nothing at all being good in the game. Heck, they couldn't even get the cutscenes right (but there sure are a lot of them... I estimate around 10 minutes just to get into the game, and it's 10 minutes that isn't worth it. Really basic stuff isn't done... there's no shadows on characters. The assets look bad. Animations are terrible. Nothing is polished. Special attacks and abilities lag or sometimes just don't work at all. It's pretty obvious the "of Persia" part of the na…

a little buggy and unbalance but still fun for me

Its a Diablo Like game, but in a more Indie Dev early 2014 way. Its clunky, but it is dubbed. It has a weird persian story of more or less total out of controll story telling, it has balancing issues, it has bad skills and no fun fight mechanics. But the art design of the story telling isnt bad. The world design again feels so bad, like when you dont get the point of your own art and slaps evrything together. It has Loading issues like, taking alot of times even from a ssd and a pc 11 years later. AND STILL i give it a positve cause it seems people dont get it its 2014 made, by a small team. Full Price? NOOO never never do this its wasted cash. but like sale price? and you want to see how iranians work? and what they can do? sure give it a go. BUT just for the curiosity the game itself is low mediacore at best.

This game is the perfect example of all the things you need to make a diablo-style ARPG game. And it's literally nothing else. Every single thing that needs to go into the game for it to exist is there, but only in its barest and most minimal form. If it were a student project, I'd give the person responsible full marks for the course. If this were an early alpha build, I would give a massive bonus to everybody on the team for literally completing an entire game using just the concept art, and the concept engine, before we could have any QA testers look at it. If I was a highschool student in 2004 and I made this game with a group of friends, I'd be very proud of this. I think a small studio should be proud of this in the sense "Yeah, we made a video game and are real developers". But as a game, I wouldn't recommend paying money for this unless it's 5$ and you're about to create your own ARPG and want to look at what you can expect a really early concept build to look like. In that case, I'd honestly recommend it. The fact that it has so little polish makes it the best academic example of critical ARPG elements I've ever seen.
