✦ AI summary
Players praise the game's fluid combat and movement, beautiful art style, and excellent soundtrack, with many comparing it favorably to Dead Cells as a well-executed roguelike-platformer hybrid. Common complaints center on it feeling like a stripped-down version of Dead Cells with less content and depth, and frustration with poor mouse and keyboard controls that feel like controller inputs awkwardly mapped to keyboard.
nice music and gameplay1 found this helpful
Didn't feel amazing, but I enjoyed it. I think it lacked some more fluidity between combat and movement. There are some really cool weapons and tools and at least a few incredible synergies. And soundtrack is very pleasant.
Really enjoyable combat and movement, while the story is small, it's not bad either. While the game is a roguelite, runs don't have much variety, although for the duration of the game this is not a problem thanks to the story progression.
I don't know how this game flew under my radar. The art style and music are amazing, and after a few years off playing Dead Cells this felt like fresh air. I recommend it thoroughly although I will say that if you play between a PC and a Steam Deck the save filing system can screw you over. Never got sure how to fix that one. Overall a very enjoyable experience!
The Rogue Prince of Persia combines fast-paced platforming with enthralling action combat, wrapped within the Prince of Persia universe. The game takes the form of a rogue-like divided in into different biomes where you will go through runs, slowly unlocking more of the story each time you succeed or fail. With a wide array of weapons and tools, all playstyles are encouraged to vanquish the final boss.
This game gets boring after the first couple of times you beat the gauntlet. I tried to get back into it to give it a chance, but the main "quest" is extremely boring and it is hard to care about any of the characters. The gameplay loop does not change meaningfully with progression, so after the first few hours, you've really seen it all, except for some weapon skins. Cannot recommend this game
