Leviathan ~A Survival RPG~

I usually always try to see the good in games when reviewing for the sake of being fair, I've gotta say this game is a very weird case... It got a good setting, idea, characters and nice art but, the game is very grindy, punishing and repetitive to the case where i'm no longer having fun, it was an exhausting experience that I tried to fight through to get all achievements which to my surprise are bugged and my grind was utterly wasted. I genuinely don't recommend this, the good in this game is present but is outweighed by the bad. If you're just interested in the art and don't mind the unnecessary grind go ahead if not avoid it even if it's cheap or on sale.

While it's decent for a survival RPG style game, it just feels lackluster due to it being pushed into the "hardcore survival" aspect by just telling you once where to go and then just pissing off to watch you flail at getting anything done. It basically turns into a guide simulator within the first couple of tiles and it's uninteresting to try to get into something and hit walls constantly because you have no info to go off of. I got it expecting a lot more back in 2019, played a lil bit of it and then dropped it because it was just.. no explanation for anything. You got stuck on an island surrounded by the "Leviathan" and the goal is to get off, and that's pretty much all you know. The tutorial lady teaches you very minor things, then tells you where her house is before pissing off and then you are just lost, which isn't fun. I played it again today hoping they added more content to at least give better direction and a bit more substance to it like a quest book and possibly a map so as you explore, you can see what path you took to get where you are.. nope. Hell, you are pulling up a guide to ask how the hell you get iron when you can't craft a pickaxe in the first place, I got…

review contains spoilers to lazy to mark them. Games fun. Have had a lot of hours in only just a few days one day even played 12 hours because I lost track of time. Many armour options to choose from weapons feel a bit weak. But overall game play is good. Scenes are good only issue I have is it asks if you would like to skip every time its a repeated scene. Would be better if it allowed you to disable that prompt. Many bosses some secret and a small handful of side quests add to the available content. There's a few good spots to farm resources but the best I found for all is the pirate ship treasury and store room good for gold and money farm. An other money farm is is Apocalypse in the relief temple. now on to the bugs and exploits. One: At the water well camp when placing and using the trap kit occasionally you can get infinite uncooked meat. Fixes itself after leaving the camp and going back. Two: Monsters can engage combat from a tile away and diagonally. After the defeating them they then move to the square adjacent. This can also happen when player is moving off or on a tile they can engage combat on the tile you've yet to move to or are in the process of leaving. Three: Bu…

This is a game with an easy to understand and engaging plot, you can farm items, although the 18+ scenes are cut, I still want it to be allowed to play :)))) PS: But patch is nice :))

It is probably not a good idea to combine RPG/Survival with hentai elements. Having below average art also doesn't help. Overall gameplay is incredibly grindy even after you figure out the location of items you need to keep the gameplay loop going and due to the aforementioned art, there isn't much reason to keep going outside of being a completionist. Equipment durability and repair adds a level of micromanagement that some might not care for. Dev has an obvious pee fetish that you can turn off. I would recommend only if this game was highly discounted.
