Cheat Your Way to Victory
Light Rider is a high speed top down racer with a twist. Bypass opponents and obstacles using your spectrum drive, different color dimensions where the track is ever so slightly different and objects with colors at the other end of the spectrum become invisible and incorporeal. Shave seconds off your lap times with the clever use of the shifting ability to bypass long looping tracks or a time consuming switchback. Do this and you will fly right through the competition, literally.

At nonPareil, autistic adults gain digital technology skills in various domains and work toward building games and items for the digital marketplace. While doing so, our members also acquire social and vocational skills preparing them for success in higher-education and employment settings.

Light Rider is a student project from the charity nonPareil Institute in Texas, specialising in education programs for developmentally inhibited adults. Certainly, a noble cause. It's an Unreal Engine minimalist/neon 2D top down racing game with a gimmick... you can "switch" between different tracks by hitting the space bar when you drive through special zones, providing a little more strategy than most racing games have. On pure technical basis this doesn't pass, it doesn't launch properly. The manifest isn't correct, the game searches for an executable which is missing. You can launch the game by browsing the game folder and finding the right executable, but this is a workaround that gamers should not have to deal with. If you do get the game to run, you'll find locked resolution and locked controls, which can't be customised. This may make the game inaccessible for some gamers with disabilities, and drops this below acceptable standards for a modern PC. As a student project, this is being given away freely, which is a noble gesture from a quality educational institution. Управление мотоциклом интуитивно понятное, но освоить его в полной мере, уворачиваясь от преград и врагов, — настоящий вызов. Визуальная составляющая просто завораживает: отражения огней на мокром асфальте, детализация окружения, эффекты скорости — всё это создает невероятно атмосферное зрелище. Музыкальное сопровождение идеально дополняет картинку, подстегивая адреналин во время напряженных заездов. Сюжет, хоть и не самый сложный, подается динамично и держит в напряжении до самого конца. Light Rider — это не просто игра, это целое погружение в мир, где скорость и риск — главные законы. Отличная работа разработчиков!
