Lingo 2

Truly a unique and underrated puzzle game. The word puzzles are very well made and solving them makes you feel very smart. Even if this doesn't sound like it's for you I would still recommend it.

i'm gonna try to push myself to beat this game, and i might even change my opinion by then. but for now, i just can't recommend it. i really really really liked the first lingo. i liked it so much that i was willing to overlook the many downsides it had. what lingo 2 does, is it takes those downsides and doubles them. i hate the main mechanic of collecting letters, it just doesn't work in a game like this. my progression should only be hindered by my knowledge, not letter unlocks. i hate finding a new puzzle room, just for me to be unable to solve it. and yes, that happens in the first game, but when youre limited by your knowledge, you can still make guesses, you can still try to work it out, and you still might get it. and even if you dont, you will not forget about it. because you spent time there trying to figure it out. and you will remember it when you finally do figure it out somewhere else. another gripe i have is the loadzone/portals that exist for some reason. the game loses a lot of its "non-euclidean" "antichamber-y" charm because of these portals, and that was one of my favourite things about the first lingo. something else that annoys me, is the amount of pointles…

Very good puzzle game with nice mechanics. You write the words. Welcome back!

The puzzles were okay. While I appreciate how bizarre the game world is, there is too much wandering around and being lost. I even went to view the hint section within a game a couple of times, but I didn't feel any less lost after viewing the hints.

The first game was great, but this game is absolutely fantastic. If you are a puzzle game fiend I consider this game a must-play. Take notes and do not feel bad about needing hints or a guide from time to time. These are word games for starters, the amount of times I had to google something like "word that starts with h" or "types of flowers" makes me worry that Google thinks a kindergartner has gotten on my computer. Beyond that, though, there is a tinge of madness to the design of the Lingo games that make it near impossible to get 100% fully on your own. Not easy to explain but you'll get what I mean pretty quickly. But those moments when the pattern finally clicks and you see the answer come to you not just for the panel but for the whole [i]room...[/i] few games have made me felt highs like that so consistently.

The leaps in logic you need to make to solve some of these are retarded. Instead of any valid word, its one specific. I find this infuriating and arbitrary as some answers are on the nose while others require you to lobotomize yourself to come up with answers that have nothing to do with the surrounding area or room or color.
