This is an incredible example of how a single flaw, decision or mechanic can ruin a whole game. Adding timers to a puzzle game is a mind boggling decision and I could not agree more with the people for who this totally ruins an otherwise extremely well done and polished title. It has a puzzle editor, workshop support, an interesting story with neat lore... It's an utter shame. If it's not a racing game, don't add timers to your game. Very few people enjoy racing a clock ticking down a few seconds while having to redraw wires in a puzzle. You might want to remove the "relaxing" tag from this game.

This review is specially made for those who like to get all the achievements in games. Minor spoilers ahead. Linkito is an indie 2D puzzle game where you have to make connections between power sources and other devices to turn them on, similar to an electrical circuit. Personally I enjoy this kind of puzzle games that take the time to create a universe and a story, instead of just giving you increasingly difficult levels only. In this particular case, it takes place on a dystopian future where you’re given the chance to work on a sort of walled city-state controlled by a mega corporation that creates electrical/mechanical devices founded by a mysterious inventor and leader. At first you just learn how to make simple connections but as you progress new types of mechanisms are added and the game gets increasingly more complex. Each chapter takes place in a different building and offers a different kind of objective or gameplay. After you complete the main levels there are some extra ones that are like a sandbox game mode where you have to place the mechanisms of your choice to reach the goal. This game is alright.. it's a simple logic puzzle game about connecting components, the art and soundtrack are good and it has a decent story, it even includes a bit of exploration. The best levels were the ones where you could choose components to make your own solution instead of trying to understand what the level wanted you to do, which sometimes involved a convoluted process that's goes on too long and it's more boring than fun.. for example all the robot levels where you have to wait for them to move around and if you make a mistake you may need to redo everything... also it has some very annoying puzzles with oscillators, feels bad having to make a solution around timing. Oh and by the way the timing of the oscillators is LOCKED TO YOUR FPS, which can make some puzzles impossible - most notably level 3-9 as you'll find some other people complaining, this can be a problem if you have too little or too much FPS.. did no one test this? Difficulty is all over the place, most of the normal levels are too easy, and the difficulty from the extra levels comes from them being too long, there's only a few levels with a fair difficulty.

It's a nice enough game. You've been given a bunch of trinkets and have to solve a goal. It reminds me a lot of The Incredible Machine (Contraption maker) in that regard, and that's a positive thing. Linkito does more with boolean boards, input-to-output manipulation and programming. It's clever and I like the overall difficulty, but might be too easy for die hard puzzlers. I give it this, though: it can get fiddly at times, especially given that you can't just rearrange cables or just attach B to A instead of A to B. Aesthetics and looks are okay, but I think the performance is impacted more than it should. It's a 2D single screen puzzler...why does my steam-deck equivalent PC struggle to keep even 30 FPS? That said: the positive easily outweighs the (nitpick) negatives.

A rather nice little puzzle game. It was intuitive to understand, excluding the one time I didnt understand a level. Puzzle variety was good and it did not drag on for too long. Story could have been better, since it is rather basic. But overall it was nice.
