About Lost At Sea

“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans” - John Lennon

Lost At Sea tells the story of Anna, who, in the later stages of her life, has come to be alone. To live her new future, she will first have to take stock of her past. Construct her memories by finding objects and solving puzzles on a strange island, and face the question we all face eventually: “Did I do it right?”

In Lost At Sea players experience poignant moments in Anna’s life, moments that we can all relate to, moments that make us all wonder how life can suddenly take a hold of us, instead of the other way around.

Set on a mysterious island, where every biome represents a phase of life, you will explore your surroundings and solve riddles to reclaim memories. All the while your fears are chasing you, trying to trap you in your misery and prevent you from moving on. In the end, this is a game about the things you want to remember, the things you wish for and about life as a whole.
  • A personal story: Experience moments from someone’s life first-hand and help the main character relive and re-assess them to move on
  • Island of the mind: Explore the different phases of life, each of them with their own beautiful biome on the island
  • Beautiful memories: Gorgeous illustrations capture the essence of the most important moments in Anna’s life, while elaborate sound design brings her deepest fears to life
  • Face your fears: Did I make the right choices? Did I fail my loved ones? As Anna, face all fears head-on, or walk away from them until you’re ready
  • Game to remember: Unlock memories with specifically designed minigames and puzzles that capture these memories in unique gameplay

I was super excited for Lost At Sea because the concept genuinely seemed interesting and emotional, but the execution completely ruined the experience for me. I usually enjoy walking simulators because they’re meant to feel relaxing and immersive, but this game somehow made the experience stressful in the worst way possible. The shadowy creature mechanic was awful and completely killed the atmosphere for me. Instead of exploring and enjoying the story, I felt constantly irritated and pressured. What makes it worse is that the AI behavior of the creature felt frustrating rather than challenging, and I couldn’t even progress far enough to see if the story became worthwhile. I wanted to like this game so badly, but the gameplay design completely pushed me away.

The budget for this game went mostly towards its assets and lighting effects and it shows.

Lost At Sea is a good exploration game set on a tropical and mysterious island, featuring mini-games and, above all, a very beautiful narrative about the moving story of Anna as she goes through different stages of her life. I had one problem with this game: it can sometimes be buggy. My rating is 7/10.

Lost at Sea, developed by Studio Fizbin and published by Headup, is a deeply personal and introspective narrative adventure that explores life, memory, and mortality through an allegorical journey across a mysterious island. It’s a first-person experience that abandons conventional gameplay complexity in favor of emotional storytelling and symbolic exploration. You play as Anna, an elderly woman reflecting on the defining moments of her life—her childhood, love, family, and eventual solitude. The island becomes a manifestation of her memories, a surreal landscape that constantly shifts between beauty and melancholy as you uncover fragments of her story. The developers at Studio Fizbin have created a reflective experience that invites the player to confront themes of aging, regret, and acceptance through simple but poignant interactions. The game begins with Anna adrift at sea before she awakens on the shores of a strange, deserted island. Guided only by a compass, the player must explore different biomes, each representing a stage of Anna’s life. The structure of the island mirrors her psychological landscape—sunlit clearings evoke joy and nostalgia, while darker, misty areas embo…
