Lost girl's [diary] is a short horror visual novel that takes place in a snowy hotel during Christmas. I follow a group of girls who are spending their vacation away from the city when their plans for fortune telling turn into a night of telling scary stories. Their boyfriends arrive and interrupt everything, but the evening quickly becomes more uncomfortable as the stories and personal problems between the characters start to come together. It is a very short game, with a playtime of around an hour, so I see it more as a small horror story than a long visual novel. What I like most is the setting. A remote hotel covered in snow is already a good place for a horror story, and having the characters trapped together during Christmas gives the whole thing a slightly uneasy feeling. The game also gives the main girls their own personalities instead of making them feel completely interchangeable. Sasha is responsible and caring, Vera is more aggressive and willing to use violence, and the characters have their own histories and problems that come out as the story progresses. A fairly short kinetic novel. The stories were entertaining if not very scary overall, but had a nice urban legend vibe. A decent way to pass an hour and free so it was more than worth it. The music is really good at setting as tone. Some questionable content here and there but noting too bad on the whole. Not much gameplay of course being a kinetic novel but a nice way to say spend a meal or just a little time, espescially if you like urban legends or folktale horror.
