About Lovingly Evil

In Lovingly Evil, you get to create your own villainous character from hundreds of different options, such as different facial features, body types, clothes, accessories, pets and more. After you've created your evil alter ego, you get to freely explore the conference area, meet different villains and attend talks on how to be a more effective villain (for example, avoiding monologues and adding safety railings on the bridge over your awesome lava pit).

Each love interest has their own minigame. Grill sausages on hellfire, use flower language to craft meaningful bouquets, win card-based debates and test your knowledge -- or luck! Earning high scores boosts your relationships, so try your best! Minigames can also be turned off in the settings, for those who prefer a more story focused experience.
Features:
- Create your own villain character (of any gender!)
- 5 villainous love interests
- 5 minigames
- Freely explore the conference area
- Attend talks and learn villainous ways
- Party hard at the nightclub

Lovingly Evil receives mixed reactions from players, with praise for its charming art style, cute writing, and inclusive approach to character romances, but criticism around inconsistent humor that doesn't land for everyone and somewhat unclear gameplay directions. The minigames are divisive—some find them fun while others find them tedious and frustrating—though players appreciate that they can be disabled. Most agree the game has heart and solid craftsmanship, but the $12.99 price point is steep for what amounts to a short experience that may not appeal to all tastes.
Lovingly Evil fell pretty short for me. The concept is cute, and I can see what they were going for, but I don’t think it was executed very well. The gameplay ended up feeling boring, the characters weren’t very likeable, and I was often confused about what I was supposed to be doing or how to do it. The mini games were also pretty bad and honestly just made the experience more frustrating than fun.2 found this helpful
Short Review:
– Humor didn’t work for me – Player character personality didn’t work for me – Character creation was pointless – Some cute characters/romances, but I had no interest in others – Fun mini games (can be disabled) – Nice art – Queer friendly – Overall, mixed feelings, wait for a sale
Full Review:
I'd give this a middle rating if I could. It wasn't quite for me, and I cannot recommend it for the $12.99 price, but I do see the heart and effort put into it, it's well made, and some people may enjoy it more. So I'm letting it have the thumbs up, if it's on sale (it does have good sales). Writing / Characters: I chuckled here and there, but for the most part, the humor didn’t quite work for me. Not sure how to describe it, maybe a mix of dad jokes and Tumblr but not committing enough to either? Without that humor, the writing fell flat. Humor is subjective though. The player character had too much predetermined personality (weirdly immature personality, at that) and backstory to be a good blank slate for roleplaying, but not enough to be a real character of their own, which made them feel flat. I have mixed feelings about the other characters…2 found this helpful
Though I loved the concept of Lovingly Evil, it ultimately fell short for me in its design and writing. Starting with the positives, the character creator was really cool and I loved all the fun customization choices. I really wish your player at least appeared in the corner and had some basic animations. I also liked the art and soundtrack, and some jokes made me laugh. But, ultimately, the game feels more like a series of lore dumps rather than a story or even conversations. The characters mainly all just talk at you or have you play their (dull) minigames. I couldn't really tell when I was actually *romancing* a character and when I was just idly flirting/joking with them because there aren't really any indications that you're on a character's route (e.g., points total, flirty UI buttons, etc.) that dating sims usually have. It also didn't help that all of the romance options were very cliched and one-dimensional. I also didn't really like the time management part of the game. Since the game is already super short (I finished one run with minigames on in 2 hours), I didn't understand why I was being discouraged from being able to talk to all of the characters in depth. If the…
As someone who doesn't really play dating sims I found this one enjoyable, no idea how well it represents the genre, but the characters were very fun and the writing cute.
Actually well written! I ended up dating the Chobit Robot who I thought would be awful but she was funny??? and clever??? I loved it.
Good game overall. Some of the playthroughs got a bit annoying to replay the same minigame over and over, but thankfully you could turn that off in the menu screen. I wish that there were slightly more choices that impacted gameplay to get different endings, but it was a good short game overall.
