"Märchen Kanna" is a poorly made JRPG slapped together with the godawful RPG Maker construction kit, but at least it looks like they made some custom art instead of asset flipping the usual stock pixelcrap RPG Maker assets. That doesn't change the fact this is just more RPG Maker spam, polluting Steam with badly made gameplay and the usual high school anime club fanfiction (although I guess with a Japanese developer it's a bit more authentic). It was ported to mobile phones, which is a solid indicator this just isn't of the level of quality PC gamers expect from serious PC games. The game features really lacklustre 2D visuals (does the developer not know 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid-1990s?). Gamers don't spend thousands of dollars on gaming rigs to pretend they're mobile phones or Commodore 64s. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This i…1 found this helpful
