Maestro: Music of Death Collector's Edition

[h1]Not so virtuoso![/h1] Well, for a HoG this game has some good aspects and some, well let's say let downs. Storywise it's pretty standard, not too shaby though. The sound and the artworks are at times captivating, and more or less "creepy"... if you want to say so. The riddles are mostly simple to easy, could have been harder at times. The HoG-Scenes are well rendered, and offer easy challenges. The final is kind of frustrating, and yet offers some insight to the next chapter in the game. The bonus chapter is tightly bound to the main game, since the ending was so utterly frustrating. Does that make for a good game? Maybe, I am not so sure about it. Yes it was entertaining for the time, I played it through in less than 10 hours, although I took a lot of breaks... and even went shopping once to a nearby grocer, that is the good side effect of a HoG, you can play it while you are working your chores too... But how about recommendation? And that is where I am torn... The game is at 9,99 which is for a game of about four to six hours a bit expensive, captivating graphics and sound aside, there is a time value threshold that says it's overtaxed. A little old, but visually good and the plot is entertaining. The lack of a map is a bit frustrating at times.

Excellent story and art. Not too long, not too short. No quick travel, but the map isn't too big, and it all makes sense.

Good game that still plays well today. Puzzles aren't too difficult. HO scenes can be a challenge on high resolution screens but are definitely doable. Game is about 4 hours long (I played through twice).
