About Magic Potion Explorer

Can you make it to the lowest level of the dungeon?
A magical potion store stands alone in a forest on the outskirts of town. Its shopkeeper - the self proclaimed "Witchling" Pastel - murmured to herself one day:
"Arrgh I can't be bothered with stocking up on ingredients all the time! Can't somebody else do it for me?!"
A shady-looking customer had overheard her:
"So you wish to be able to easily stock up on potion ingredients, eh?"
The following morning, inside the shop was a mysterious underground dungeon, filled with organic matter. Pastel was furious that someone had dug a dungeon in the shop without her permission! So she prepared herself to make an underground investigation...

Very short but very cool and well put together.1 found this helpful
Magic Potion Explorer feels like a miniature idle game, which could be forced through with enough patience. If that's your style, this is probably a pass. If you're interested in deconstructing how different upgrades allow you to progress with minimal effort and loss, to streamline your scores or take on challenge runs, with a couple of difficulties to work on... give this a go. It's charming and even has audio cues if you need to split your attention with other things (work).1 found this helpful
A really simple idle game. I have mixed feelings about this one. It's fairly solid in it's mechanics and game play but the game is damn near a death by 1000 cuts. The game is almost too simple and is only challenging on certain harder achievements. After playing for about 10 hours the game began to degrade. It would freeze, crash from missing fonts and just all over struggle. It's weird as it was completely fine before that but I'd never know until I started grinding the harder achievements. It really kills the game for me and cannot recommend it in it's current state as it punishes achievement hunters in an idle game.
A cute exercise in resource allocation, way too shallow for the asking price.
Addictive but short
Playing this was fairly underwhelming. Maybe I had my bar too high after playing One Way Heroics, but there's very little to do in this game. The character handles everything but upgrades automatically, it's just a matter of upgrading semi-strategically. The game would have some value if there was another level of depth beyond upgrades - but you just have to keep your numbers high enough to not die...not very hard if you want to crunch math or just repeat runs on normal mode. Admittedly, I have not tried hard mode, but from the description of the mode, it is literally just a single-run version of normal (where your initial RP pool increases the more you fail). I presume that it could be fun finding multiple ways to win in hard mode (I imagine there are a series of upgrade "paths", dependent only slightly on luck, which result in victory), which might lend it some replay value, but I think you hit diminishing returns fairly quickly, here. I'll give the game credit and admit that the early game was actually pretty enjoyable (balancing my need to improve after-battle regen with the fact that my HP pool was high enough to allow for a focus on buying other upgrades for a while). …
