Magic Runes

Magic Rune is an absolute disaster of a game, a black hole of enjoyment in the gaming universe. From the moment you start, you're thrust into a world of frustration and disappointment. Let's talk about the graphics. They're reminiscent of something you'd find on a graphing calculator from the '90s. I've seen better pixel art on a calculator watch. The characters look like they were drawn by someone with their eyes closed and a shaky hand. And don't get me started on the environments – they're bland, repetitive, and about as visually stimulating as watching paint dry. Gameplay? Ha! More like game-flay! The controls are clunky and unresponsive, as if your character is wading through molasses. Combat is a mind-numbing button-mashing fest with no strategy or skill involved. The quests are nothing more than glorified fetch quests, sending you on mindless errands to collect arbitrary items for forgettable NPCs who couldn't muster an interesting line of dialogue if their lives depended on it. And the story? What story? Magic Rune's plot is thinner than a sheet of paper. It's a mishmash of tired fantasy tropes and clichés stitched together with all the finesse of a blindfolded toddler. …

The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware. In this case, the asset flipper took the FPS Microgame template and a bunch of stolen dinosaur assets (and some Suriyun assets for background objects/trees etc), but despite all this asset theft, came up with yet another pointless "kill all the enemies on the open map" FPS garbage asset flip the same quality as all his other garbage wave survival FPS asset flips. Nice little running/walking simulator, would benefit greatly from a minimap, cause you can't find ♥♥♥♥. This would probably shorten the gametime by half, which would also benefit this piece of trash greatly. I would've rather spent 15 min instead of 38 min to finish the "story". Also 40€?, why not more, rly.
