Magic Tavern is a free to play VR shooter game where you are slinging magic bolts at objects in a tavern. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. You just stand or sit in middle of the tavern. Might work on Index, but the hand models are reversed on the controller, making for confusion and difficulty aiming. Try this free game, you might like it.

Magic Tavern is a small-scale virtual reality arcade experience that takes the familiar shooting-gallery concept and dresses it in a playful fantasy setting. Developed and published by Cykyria, it places the player in the role of someone challenged to demonstrate genuine magical talent. Instead of embarking on a lengthy adventure filled with quests and exploration, the player proves those abilities through fast, straightforward target shooting. It is an uncomplicated concept designed around the physical immediacy of VR rather than deep storytelling or elaborate progression. The central challenge involves using magical attacks to destroy objects that appear around the player. Mugs, goblets, and similar targets materialize within the tavern, requiring quick reactions and reasonably accurate aiming. Casting spells with motion controls makes the activity feel more engaging than its simple structure might suggest. There is an enjoyable physical quality to pointing toward an object, firing a magical attack, and immediately searching for the next target. Очаровательная пиксельная графика создает неповторимый уют, а геймплей затягивает с первых минут. Разнообразие классов героев, каждый со своим уникальным набором навыков и способностей, позволяет экспериментировать со стратегиями и создавать мощные команды. Мне особенно понравилось продуманное развитие базы, где каждый построенный объект влияет на эффективность героев и скорость прогресса. Добыча ресурсов, улучшение зданий и крафт экипировки - все это выполнено интуитивно понятно и не вызывает раздражения. Бои, хоть и выглядят просто, требуют тактического мышления. Необходимо учитывать сильные и слабые стороны врагов, правильно применять навыки героев и выбирать оптимальное расположение. Несмотря на то, что игра находится в раннем доступе, она уже сейчас предлагает достаточно контента для увлекательного времяпрепровождения. Единственным минусом я бы назвал некоторую однообразность ближе к поздним этапам, но разработчики активно выпускают обновления, добавляющие новые элементы и механики.
