What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players appreciate the free online multiplayer mahjong experience against real opponents, but the game severely lacks tutorials, clear rule explanations, and proper localization, making it nearly impossible for newcomers to understand what's happening. The UI is poorly designed with confusing navigation, Japanese voice acting without subtitles, and overly complex mechanics that leave even experienced mahjong players frustrated despite being able to dominate the weak AI.
Poorly made UI and lack of instructions for the game makes this hard to recommend.5 found this helpful
You can play mahjong vs real people online for free. You need to know how to play riichi mahjong before playing this game (weird translations and no tutorial) and if you know how to play mahjong you will bully the AI players over half of the time.1 found this helpful
There are a few problems with this.

The rules are very complex (I still haven't figured out all of them, despite Internet research), yet there is 0 tutorial, explanations or anything
At least I'm assuming that. The "Help" displays seems to have multiple pages, but I couldn't figure out how to advance them. There aren't enough pages for explain the rules, though.
While the game has an English UI, the voice output is still Japanese with no subtitles -- so I have no idea what they are saying.
A weird attempt at making Mahjong more of a complicated experience than it ought to be. But, Mahjong is alright and stuff.. so yeah, if you like Mahjong it might be worth it.
"A Battle of a life time"
It's bad,.
