Riichi City - Japanese Mahjong

I have mixed feelings about recommending this game. After putting in about 80 hours here, I booted up Soul again to compare. City looks better and feels better. Soul felt quite dated in comparison. I'm no prude. In fact, I own and play lots of ero games here on steam. But the sex on display in this game is frankly ridiculous. I don't mind skimpy clothing or gratuitous angles. But I don't want spread eagle pu**y in my face after West ippatsu tsumo's their single wait on my dealer turn and now their character has to moan and slurp all over everyone's screen. There is a SFW toggle. But all it does is force everyone into their default outfit. I'd rather see a variety of outfits, with just the overtly sexual ones disabled. Or better yet, allow us to disable outfits individually just as we're able to mute individual character voices. I would say what tips me just barely into the recommended camp is the featured offerings. I don't like gacha. And over on Soul, while I did eventually pull the character I wanted through free pulls, I still don't have an outfit for her because I have to wait for one to rotate back in the shop. Basic game is very good "SFW" filter does NOT block event page outfits and basic character outfits that are quite lewd, even after more than a year of many people begging and even "gooners" agreeing a better filter would help everyone all we got was a SFW badge and the ability to use our own character skin instead if default with the filter. They really seem to prioritize whoever is spending money on lewd outfits over the large population of active players who asked for an improved filter or character block option. Also there was drama about an event using AI art even though they denied it. I personally didn't have a huge problem with more risque outfits but quite a few are for VERY childlike characters and it seems nearly every outfit or character lately is lewd.

I thought Mahjong Soul tile randomizer algorithm was bad, this game is even worse than Mahjong Soul. You'd feel bad because you keep getting tenpai so early in the game while others are far from tenpai. Unbelievable CHAIN of ippatsu so early in the game also happen often. When your opponent get this lucky, you gonna feel hopeless because you know the absurd luck also happen to you before. Overall experience is worse than Mahjong Soul, and I consider Mahjong Soul is a horrible game.

Luck overpowers even the most skillful mahjong players. At least the cute girls ease the pain... ( ;w;) (Being able to get 3 free pulls a week is also pretty generous!)

Actually shocking to see how much time I've wasted on a game that mostly just puts me in a bad mood. I could've gone for walks, read a book, petted my cat or done literally hundreds of other things that would've made me a better, calmer person and most importantly, not raised my blood pressure so much.

I'm here for mahjong, I swear!
