Malevolence

The game does not function properly. Out of the 4 times I have loaded it only one has worked properly. Everything from graphical issues, crashes, and game saves just not working. I wanted to like this game but I can barely play it.

I like the aesthetic. I love the sounds but that's where it ends. The save files do not save so when you re-enter the game your file is lost, forcing you to go from beggining. And when I quit the game it somehow made my monitor die giving me 'connect the HDMI to the monitor' message bouncing around. Luckily I got it dirt cheap but I still want my money back, oh well. Stay away from this.

Love watching the 90's intro video then it completely crashing the entire game bringing me back to the launcher. Tried multiple times to fix it, but then when I finally gave up and went to the discussion board, the dev is telling people to just refund it. I bought it in a bundle and want to keep the other games... guess I'm just SOL

Definitely a pretty odd game, but it feels genuinely very old school. Everything from the artstyle to the sound design to the jank menus is all very aesthetic. I didn't even really mind the one or two minor bugs I ran into, it kind of felt like part of the experience. I bought this at about $4USD and would say I had about an 8/10 experience considering this seems like a passion project. Nice job, dev!

Unfortunately doesn't work

Malevolence is a first-person horror adventure that deliberately recreates the atmosphere and design philosophy of classic 1990s PC horror games.
