About Master of Puppets

Master of Puppets is a turn based strategy game with resource management and a deck building mechanic. Each turn, cards are played to build and upgrade a squad of Mechs. The Mechs can be moved around on the game board to protect strategic locations, gather resources, find treasure and, most importantly, attack enemies.

Master of Puppets comes with a variety of game modes, including a growing library of handcrafted stories and an infinite number of procedurally generated campaigns. Procedurally generated campaigns has 3 planets of 12, 18 and 24 maps to a total of 54 maps per campaign. As you unlock each location you will be able to collect more cards.

• Endless number of procedurally generated campaigns.
• 54 maps of increasing difficulty for each campaign.
• Handcrafted story based campaigns added regularly.
• 86 different cards with more coming.
• Fuse, forge and upgrade cards to build your custom deck.
• 4 mission types.

This is an awesome little gem, quite good for the price. Unfortunately, the demo was bugged at 50% through the first campaign, not willing to test if that is fixed or not. The game can also be a bit on the difficult side, but it has a comprehensive hint system to get you going. The only thing it lacks is online multiplayer, which would make this game complete; hotseat multiplayer would be even better than that, but alas, I do not foresee this happening.... All in all, if you like turn based strategy games with mechs (and this game is VERY strategic), give this one a go! Highly recommended. (And by all means, vote for the online multiplayer aspect, so that hopefully it gets implemented sooner rather than later!)

"Master of Puppets" is a console ported hybrid card battler and turn based tactical strategy. Control some generic robots on a hex map, dropping cards to summon artillery and helper robots and things. Don't let your core unit die, exploit the map, and kill the enemy robots. While this is no X-Com, Battletech or Heroes of Might & Magic, there's enough depth here that it would have failed as a console game (too complex for the console kiddies), so I guess some elements of this get a pass. It is somewhat obtuse however and the tutorial is very poor. Likewise the game is very unpolished, I was surprised to see it's not in Early Access (that would be the ethical thing to do, but the developers here have an ethics problem which we'll get into). From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality, in some places t…

Seemed like an interesting game. Definitely doesn't feel fully fleshed out. Several mechanics are very unclear, like when you can drop cards from your deck and when you can't. Basically 1 campaign, with some fun quest type stuff, but the majority of the game seems like random generated slog. But in all fairness, this game was relatively inexpensive $9 US.
