I consider Maverick as an Obstacle Action Puzzle game. Now hold on! There are no puzzles nor are there the obstacles you might think of. I refer the obstacles, to those guys that mean death to you if you don't kill them first. First you get your weapon, unlimited ammo with only one catch: reload and then you make your way through a maze towards the elevator. Avoiding your enemy is out of the question, it's to kill or to be killed.
A very simple concept, but well executed! The further you get per elevator ride, the bigger and harder the levels become. And they are quite challenging! The developer dressed the rooms a bit, sometimes with little humor. (intentionally or not, I like it, got me killed because I was looking at it too long) Sometimes you find a better weapon, which is needed, because there are different types of enemies that need more of a bullet beating then just being stroked with a few. The AI, as stupid as always, are programmed to run towards you and bash your skull in. Unless you shoot them first, head on! Like I said, this is not a stealth game, no hiding! And with Early Access, they sometimes come with bugs. Like the settings, if you don't le…7 found this helpful
I like these kinds of single-player shooters. Not too much in the way of plot or puzzles etc to worry about, just jump straight in and start killing ;) I haven't played Maverick a whole lot yet, but on first impressions it's pretty good. OK, it's a little rough around the edges, as to be expected for an Early Access game. There's room for improvement here and there. Check out my post on the discussions page for more details on this. But I'm happy to see the developer is responsive to suggestions, and I look forward to future updates. For the price, it's worth a go if you're into solo shooters.4 found this helpful
awful game lil bro
I have finally found it. Of all the games I have ever tried. This is the absolute worst piece of garbage I have ever found on Steam. The absolute worst. It clearly looks like something put together in perhaps one afternoon and then uploaded to Steam. In this awful excuse for a game, you step out of an elevator into a pitch dark room where you absolutely cannot see anything. You have no footsteps when you walk and there is an enemy who sort of walks around too. You just stumble around in the dark until he kills you and that's it. The whole thing is incredibly clunky, unoptimized, and a complete waste of time and money. Seriously, stay far far away from this one.
