As a very long-time Phantom fan: I will say the art is magnificent, but it cannot save the horrible narrative design. Completely misses the point of the story it seeks to adapt; if this was a creative choice, it falls utterly flat as there is no character arc or development given to its titular character, no redemption or dimension. This is made even more aggravating given the seemingly random idiotic decisions/accusations regularly made by nearly every character and total lack of chemistry. Very disappointing, particularly as the art is so wonderful and gives an idea to how much more effective it would have been as a visual novel at the hands of decent writing that understood pacing, tension, and character motivation.3 found this helpful
What a wonderful game! The soundtrack, the characters, the good developed history by the original book, the care with details magnifies so much it and I 100% recommend it! I'm still currently playing (in the middle of it) but going to finish it very soon, it's worth each penny!2 found this helpful
Similar to the Jekyll and Hyde game in the sense of it being a good adaptation. Very fun to go through. I'm very much enjoying it. :)1 found this helpful
Took me way too many hours to complete than I anticipated. But since I was already knew accustomed to the story (through the musical, the book and a couple of films) I was bound to finish it. I won't deny I was bored at times and somehow disheartened to continue since these type of games (visual novels) are not always to my liking. But the artstyle is lovely, the little notes we pick up through the games are interesting and the effort is there. I also would have preferred if we had more choices as Christine and preferably
one where we can save the phantom from his mental downfall
Just writing this so you know- game runs decently on deck, the only issue is that you sometimes have to click directly on the screen. PS. I love the game despite it not being as book acurate. THE SOUNDTRACK IS GOD LVL I LOVE IT
Good story and design
