MEATHOOK

House of the dead meets Blood/Dusk. Super fun but just not enough meat on this hook, I would love to have more levels!! The mechanic is super simple but fun enough that I could just keep playing. Hope to see more from this dev in the future

Absolutely loved playing this game, it's a short and sweet action-filled experience that really got the heart pumping. I played it on the steam deck and it works almost completely perfectly out the box, just needed to rebind the weapon selection to the d-pad. The vibes are immaculate and well worth the hour or so it took to complete!

fun, addictive, and highly unique shooter with elements of souls-like difficulty spikes that force you to learn the various skills, and where best to apply them. Often that extends to having to carefully think about which ammo type to use against the enemies so you don't run out of ammo before the end of the level. It's definitely a game that rewards exploring the mechanics. Good amount of challenge. Really enjoyed the PS1 era graphics, gave this title a Half Life 1 vibe throughout for me! I'd love to see more of this peculiar world.

Never played Barbotine but I certainly will now. Yes the game is short, but if you like on rail shooters and you don't mind spending 5 bucks on an hour long experience, I certainly think it is worth the price tag. Great aesthetics, soundtrack, atmosphere, and pretty good shooting mechanics just makes me excited for whatever Alex has cooking up next. I think it is important to realize that if people want Indie developers to make more games and games that are longer, you gotta invest in the small projects first. I recommend it to anyone who likes rail shooters.

I had a lot of fun playing this game...some say that the demo is most of the game but honestly I spent more time on the final levels than on all the parts that came before. Was it frustrating? Absolutely! Dying takes you right back to the start of the level and some of the later ones have multiple tiers that can be pretty tough to work through for a noob like myself. Honestly though, after a few light breathing exercises I started to think strategically, which was actually very satisfying. The first attempt was like stepping into the wilderness...the 5th was a military exercise in coordination and rationing of resources. Plus the vibe was great.

The game's cool, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed by its length. I don't have anything against short games, but Meathook is only 10 lvls long, and the first couple of levels are tutorials. The majority of levels feel like a proof of concept. A really nice proof of a really awesome concept, but still. Like, on screenshots you can see chess-pieces cultists, but they appear only for one level and don't do anything particularly different. The office building location is there for just one arena!
