About Merchant's Game

Merchant's Game is a 2D pixelart open-ended game that you hire npc's, negotiate prices, sell and buy items to pay your debt to the lanlord. Merchant's Game is a single-player game that can be played by keyboard and mouse. In a fantasy world you open a shop in a busy gateway in the mittle of the Galaxy. However things are not good as before so you start from the day 1 and continue your journey until the payment day arrives. No need to be worried if you've already done that. So keep your shop open. Forever.

This game is abandonware, while it's fun to play it for a bit but it has bugs and I don't see it ever being completed., I bought the game a few months ago it has not gotten a single update since. In fact the last time this game was "updated" has been 4 months ago which was when it was released. While I would recommend the game if it was even in a completed state, however it is far too buggy and lacking of content to call it anything near "complete", so I simply can't recommend the game.

This game is offensively bad. It's not entertaining to stare at a screen for 5 minutes while making zero decisions whatsoever. Maybe it picks up after getting a few items sold and making some money, but I'm not even going to give it that chance when customer after customer walks in and makes no purchase on the first set of items. And it's not even like I have them priced high; I bought the set of items for the minimum price the negotiate function allows, so I paid 2 silver per item and tried to sell them for 3 each. In any sane game, this first batch should sell quickly to get the game moving, especially when the player is trying to make the minimum possible amount of money from them. But even at the minimum price, they don't sell quickly. Beyond that, everything takes way too long to happen. Time between customers is too long, customers take way too long to walk up to the counter, as far as I can tell only one person can be in the shop at a time and if it's someone trying to sell things, that means you aren't making money and have to wait for that person to exit before another customer can come in. Dialogue is slow and can't be skipped. I'm also seeing other reviews saying that …

A nice concept, but very incomplete. Firstly, if you hit "Negotiate" and then lower it down, then end negotiation, and hit it again on the same products you can infinitely repeat this. I don't spend more than 1 silver on anything no matter the original price. Hey, I got a shop to keep open don't I? Have run into a few bugs, duplicating objects by accident but not able to be removed from inventory. Not even sure how they duplicated. Second week and I can't seem to pay my rent, can only hire one adventurer, seems like I should be able to progress somehow...Shelves stocked full, no ability to fast forward time so it is a bit arduous. I can definitely see potential, the pixel graphics are extremely cute and I like the idea, but it definitely feels very incomplete. I mean hey, I got my moneys worth, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it until some things are fixed or added too.

I finished the game. Pretty nice game ! The sound design and the menu are well done and the ambiance is very chill. A nice game to play while talking with someone :) I recommend it ^^
