Metric Racer
Metric is a fast paced futuristic racer which pulls from a broad spectrum of inspiration as well as adding in its own unique flavours to the genre. Nope. It sees Linux and seems to assume Linux == Steam Deck. Resolution is set to 1280x800 "Fullscreen" while fullscreen is windowed. Which apparently is not an issue on gamescope but on literally any other compositor. Also the window is moved to the lower right quarter of the screen causing the game to be rendered partially outside the screen. Moving the game window back into the visible area of the display sometimes causes random mouse jumps and the window will get locked to any other random corner of the screen and also grepping the pointer preventing it from being used outside the game. Alt + F4 is the only hope in this situation. As you can not access the system settings in the main menu (or it was just not viisble to me even after moving the game window back into sight) but only in-game you have to somehow mange to launch a track and then you can fix the resolution and the fullscreen. The performance is very poor. We talk about 8 FPS on lowest possible settings on a GT 730M here (That thing can run Metro Exodus on 8 FPS! While this game is far far apart graphics wise from Metro and still performs just as good) Controller support ... there is some level of it yes but very…2 found this helpful
Abandoned Early Access game. Do not buy if you are not okay with unfinished product.1 found this helpful
This game has come a long way, there's been a number of improvements, the handling is better, there's more tracks available now and the overall feel of the game has been polished with better controller support all around. Worth checking out.1 found this helpful
If you want a high speed hover racer that doesnt suck, go play Redout. This game feels sloppy and awkward. You cant even drift or slide, the menus are buggy and break, controls are stiff, awkward and glitchy. It's effectively unplayable with a controller as well. Theres no ability to strafe your craft, and the same button for right/left airbrakes, if you double tap them by accident, effectively 'teleports' your ship a short ways in that direction... often right into walls. The maps boosts are exactly the same as well, they dont give you a speed boost or anything, they just teleport you forward a bit. It makes the game feel awful and buggy. Seriously, just go play Redout, or wait for Redout 2.1 found this helpful
Impossible to control with a game pad.1 found this helpful
This game is great. The textures loaded. The ships moved. The pause menu opened. The resolutions can technically be changed. I'm amazed the game doesn't uninstall every single software on my computer and sets it on fire, very impressive.
