About Distance
✦ AI summary
Race through a neon-soaked dystopian city where your car defies gravity, driving on walls and ceilings while you parkour, fly, and discover shortcuts to survive deadly obstacle courses. Blending arcade speed-running with innovative vehicle physics and a killer soundtrack, Distance offers a haunting single-player campaign, competitive multiplayer, infinite procedural tracks, VR support, and a robust level editor with thousands of player-created courses.
Distance is an atmospheric racing platformer. Fusing futuristic arcade racing with parkour, survive a deadly, mysterious, neon-drenched city by jumping, rotating, and flying.
The roads are treacherous with obstacles around every corner. Instead of doing laps on a loop, survive to the end in the quickest time. Your car has abilities that not only allow you to drive on the track, but upside down and on buildings and walls! You can also fly to discover new shortcuts and paths. Take on the roads alone, or in multiplayer with your friends!
The game is a spiritual successor to the multi-award winning Nitronic Rush, created by ourselves and 5 others at DigiPen Institute of Technology. It was widely praised for its innovative mechanics, visual style, audio design, and atmosphere.

One of the most fun racing games i've ever played. Imagine F-Zero for SNES but with custom workshop stuff and advanced mechanics!1 found this helpful
This game's main story mode/campaign is like if you combined Rush 2049 with Thumper. Very fun and cool game. I do wish the other modes in the game managed to capture the tense feelings main mode a little bit more. But if you're like me and you've been looking for this particular flavor of arcade racer, I highly recommend Distance.1 found this helpful
I first heard about Distance from a review on YT. The guy (I forget who) did a great job selling how good the game was to me. Now that I've finally got around to playing it for myself, this is definitely one of the better indie racing games I've ever played. I personally prefer using a controller for these type of games rather than the keyboard for ease-of-use. Now, the game itself: On the surface, Distance is a fairly straightforward Sci-Fi themed racing game. Drive, boost, dodge obstacles, perform air tricks, occasionally fly around with Wing-mode. What separates Distance from other racers is 1) The environment, 2) The story, and 3) How both of these work together. I never previously considered that one could expertly combine the Racing genre with semi-horror/semi-thriller elements, moreso keep me invested despite that I'm not a horror seeker myself. You can clearly see how Distance is artistically inspired by Tron, but in Campaign mode, you're quickly thrusted into a race against the clock while simultaneously racing against an "evil" entity trying to stop you. The game makes good use of the environment by utilizing dark shadows, haunting soundtrack, and very lit…
Parkour car!
My goodness, presentation gets an A++++++++++ 😀 I never even wondered about what a car would drive like in zero G. A AAA studio could never make a game like this, this, it's flashy, fast, looks and feels amazing, also your car can explode, get bisected and lasered or get lost in space a dozen different ways. Funny thing is I only found out about this game from a yt comment thread 😂
I expected a neon racer got something completly unexpected. Beautiful OST, the controls are kinda strange (u steer with arrows instead of WASD) but overall really nice game
