Midnight Road

[i]Midnight Road[/i] certainly is a [i]thing[/i]. I almost don't know what to make of it. It is a branching, choose-your-own-adventure-type of visual novel about a guy driving along a lonely road in the woods, heading to the city, who picks up a mysterious hitchhiker. I like the music. I like the style of the graphics. I like that there are many paths to take. The events that take place in the game are intriguing: they were not what I was expecting, so I was on my toes! Overall, I enjoyed my time with it, and I think it was a worthwhile interactive experience for what I paid for it. I do have one minor complain about an ending (minor spoiler): [spoiler]I did not like how abruptly the game ends if one chooses the 'blue pill' option. I didn't even realize that I was making a choice of an action, and I thought I was just bantering about with dialogue. Therefore, that was unpleasant. Not that I might've not taken that action, but that it caught me off guard.[/spoiler]

Great, cost-effective game with compact storytelling and high replayability value. What's not to love? ;) Highly recommended!
