Mist of the Undead

"Mist of the Undead" is an extremely lazy Unreal asset flip. What do you do in the game? It's a basic wave survival shooter where you shoot asset flipped zombies in an Unreal Engine first person shooter game blueprint... it's incredibly lazy, a minimum viable product. I'm surprised the developer isn't trying to get paid for this. The game graphics look better than you might expect, but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game …

Графика намеренно пиксельная и создает атмосферу ретро-хоррора, что добавляет шарма. Геймплей прост в освоении, но требует стратегического мышления: правильно распределять ресурсы, улучшать оружие и выбирать навыки персонажа - жизненно необходимо для выживания. Система генерации уровней делает каждое прохождение уникальным, а разнообразие зомби заставляет адаптироваться к разным ситуациям. Особенно радует система прогрессии, где даже после смерти можно разблокировать новые улучшения и начать новую попытку с небольшим преимуществом. Несмотря на кажущуюся простоту, игра обладает достаточной глубиной, чтобы завлечь на долгие часы. Иногда не хватает более подробного обучения, и приходится разбираться во всем методом проб и ошибок. Но это лишь добавляет азарта. В целом, 'Mist of the Undead' - достойный представитель жанра, который точно понравится любителям хардкорных игр и пиксельной графики. Рекомендую попробовать!

The man who made this game is a genius. When you pay very close attention you can notice how much depth this game has, because this game wants to show us how our society is built. With this deep knowledge, i was able to understand the purpose of this life. The exaggerated muzzle flash shows how a small flame can devour the world. The single sound that is used for all weapons shows us how monotonous this world is, how everything revolves around only one thing, this thing being money. The off-center crosshair shows us how we can view the world from many different perspectives, but you can not change your own crosshair showing how we are locked in to our own perspective of the world. The light 'ouch' that the player character emits shows us that with how much the world has experienced over the last years, a life threatening injury seems only like a minor inconvenience. The unrelenting zombies shows us just a fraction of how badly the IRS wants my money. This game could improve the politics and economy of the entire world. The world needs to hear of this game! I thank you for this masterpiece.
