The best monster tamer rpg series in current day over modern pokemon and CRAPCOM cant be bothered to properly port to pc with controls different from the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mobile version. Congrats, yall gained a lifelong pirate, but thats thanks to bisecting dogma 2 just to have wilds, the fortnite of monster hunter, run like ass on pc.

Game certainly has its charm, the graphics look like ass, and i personally didnt like the character art styles, atleast most of the humans, however this game came out for the switch almost 8 years ago, but most importantly the game is fun as all hell, its a very good take on the creature collector genre, and we dont hav much of those, from my own perspective this is a great game that gave me a lot of fun and well worth the price, especially when bought on a sale, i would highly recommend if you need a palette cleanser and just do stuff for the sake of it, the story isnt all that amazing, just your typical power of friendship yada yada, we need to defeat the big bad evil plague, but the gameplay is what hooked me in

I loved every second of this game, it really feels like one of those fantastic videogames you played as a child, even if you just played it as an adult. Truly fun!

It is a very okay game, but I genuinely think that you are not probably missing anything if you jump straight to mhs 2 or 3. The story and mechanics aint anything to write home about so maybe come back to this game if you just cant get enough of the MHS world after beating 2-3

The one negative thing I have to say about Monster Hunter Stories is that I'm not sure Monster Hunter in general has a good sense of what is a reasonable amount of grind to put into your core gameloop. However, that aside, Stories 1 is a lovely game, a clever Monster Hunter adaptation, and a solid creature collector to boot. It's really hard to oversell just how good it looks. Everything is made with a kind of PS2 RPG visual maximalism, where there's details on details on details all crammed into every town, and where the sky and landscape are an abyss of soothing green and blue. Every color pops. Every outfit is fun. The 3DS was a hell of a system. In terms of story, there's more here than you might expect in other monster collectors, but I wouldn't call it lifechanging. Live in harmony with nature. Don't do pollution. You are allowed to kill five hundred seagulls if that will let you make a blade out of seagulls. In terms of mechanics, Stories 1 has a real funk to it. You have a life system which allows you to make mistakes (and lets you encounter and get flattened by stuff over your level without the frustration of being reset back to your last save,) and you control your tr…
