GOD EATER 3

God Eater 3 is a strange child. While the previous two installments were co-developed by Bandai Namco & Shift, GE3's co-developer was Marvelous. More importantly, GE1/2's lead director Hiroshi Yoshimura vacated his driving role in favor of Ittetsu Suzuki, and the game shows a proportionally drastic change in its developmental priorities. Shift and Yoshimura themselves both moved onto Code Vein, which in its turn is a spiritual successor to God Eater, as well as their answer to Dark Souls—in the same way that GE is their answer to Monster Hunter. How and why this farrago of a development process happened is hard to piece together, but it isn't hard to see that it yielded a stronger work. One can see almost immediately on playing the game what the improvements are. Japanese voices are available, the mission levels no longer look like they're from a mobile game, composer Go Shiina decided to abandon his experiments with autotuned classical-opera-dubstep-core and write music that doesn't violate the Geneva Conventions, there's more weapons and each has a significantly deeper moveset, the player moves faster and overall keeps up better with nimble enemies... as for the aragami, they ar…

love the story and how easy it was to learn the controls will be playing often with friends

This game is great. That being said, it does have a lot of flat empty space, this is nice in the hunts against bigger Aragami, but if your just out and about it's just empty. but the game looks pretty good, feels great, and is anime coded to a T. If you liked Code Vein, this is the same people making it, and it's the same universe, but it's "completely" separated. If you like Monster Hunter games, this is basically that but made for people with ADHD and/or not a lot of spare time. Where Mon Hun has 20-50 minute hunts, this God Eater 3 has 2-5 minute hunts. This game is really fun, but can be a little grindy, and I wont lie it's kinda Proper noun overload, but if you can get past that it's got phenomenal gameplay and a ton of customization to make it feel juuuust right. Also it's Really cool that you can summon your friends as an npc to play with you even if either or both of you are offline (after exchanging cards) one of the coolest additions to a game ever in my opinion.

not a fan of monster hunter-esque games but this one was fast-paced and had cool flashy moves so i had fun, the cutscene animations and voice acting was laughably bad but that was part of the fun :)

God Eater 3 is an amazing game. The characters are likable, the combat is deep and rewarding with plenty of mechanics to master, but it never feels overly difficult or overwhelming. On top of that, the jiggle physics are top-tier. Overall, it's a fun and satisfying action RPG that I'd easily rate 9/10.
