There is a lot to talk about with this game. First of all, this is clearly the developer testing out a prototype for a Metroidvania, and the scope of the project is extremely small. With that said, let's look at the positives. First off, the atmosphere of the game is incredible, and you truly feel like you are exploring an infected moon filled with monsters. The music is also very good, helping to create a spooky atmosphere. On top of that, the visuals are well done and fit the setting perfectly. While they aren't anything extraordinary, they are still very good. Sadly, that is all I can really say about the positives. For the negatives, my biggest issue was the horrible movement and janky combat. There is a frustrating bug that causes your character to attack downward instead of in the direction you intended. This can be incredibly annoying and often leads to death through stun-locks. A lot of the time, when you take damage, you can't move and end up stuck in a cycle of being hit until you die. For some reason, the game also suffers from massive FPS drops on the Steam Deck whenever you attack, constantly slowing down to around 30 FPS. A game like this really shouldn't have perf…
Yes, it's a really short Metroidvania game and I admit it, before I achieved the double jump skill the game felt even a bit annoying at the start (especially the first boss), but after that it turned out really fun and I loved the end, because it reminded me of a fun Metroid-reference! I can't recommend this game though without a controller, because the standard key binding is... weird. And for all achievement hunters: you won't find any in this game!
I really enjoyed playing it. Great game!
Could not get past first boss, as it does not appear to take damage, and regularly causes the character to glitch out and die.
Good introduction for a metroidvania.
Pretty good for a free game. Also hard as balls.
