Moribund is a fast-paced arena fighting game that thrives on local multiplayer chaos, exaggerated violence, and the unpredictable situations that emerge when several players compete on the same screen. Developed and published by Traptics, it takes place in a devastated post-apocalyptic world where an aggressive fungal organism has transformed the environment into a hostile wasteland. Rather than building a serious survival narrative around this premise, the game embraces dark comedy and turns its ruined world into a collection of dangerous arenas where players attempt to eliminate one another in increasingly ridiculous ways. The foundation of the combat is intentionally straightforward, making it possible for newcomers to understand the basics within only a few matches. Players carry a weapon with two important firing functions. One attack can immobilize an opponent, while the more devastating charged harpoon is used to finish the victim. This creates a two-step combat rhythm where successfully hitting somebody does not automatically guarantee an elimination. Hi Traptics! (I was supposed to review this game so long ago I'm sorry it's so late) I played your game and initially started with keyboard controls but they go back and forth: if I'm using WASD, I can only move with the arrow keys so I switched to controller mode which made it so much easier to play. ***I read your update (where it's highly recommended to play with the controller) and I think that it's better to remove the keyboard controls image that flashes as the game starts altogether to make it less confusing. Also, it's kind of off-putting when you do the tutorials and you're immediately sent back to the main menu upon completion. It'd be much easier if after completion, it stays in the tutorial screen so it'd be easier to maneuver between practicing #1 and #2. I may just be too nitpicky, but I think it'd be more efficient. Where you choose the player is also inconsistent -- I'm either picking for Player 2 or Player 3 even if I'm playing by myself. The challenges are interesting and really force your mind to work under intensive time pressure. The objective of the game is to be the first one to get to 10 kills. You get two guns, one that shoots some device that holds an opponent down by their tendons (like I said, strong emphasis on gore) and the other one is a harpoon that decapitates your opponent. Best played on a gamepad! -Graphics, Sound & Artstyle- Moribund takes a dark and ominous approach to their artstyle being that the setting is post-apocalyptic they take it a step further and with the element of gore, it really feels like an immersive universe. Cool game to play with friends, it's not the best for single player but if you and your friends are bored of Mortal Combat, FIFA and all those games this is the perfect game. Really cool mechanics and fitting graphics.
