Absolutely phenomenal
oh my oh my ohhh ohhh eugh yuegh oh my wow
Steam is drowning in thousands of lazy, low-effort 2D platformers, and "Mr. Mookie and the Runaway Cookie" is yet another one. I'm not kidding, there's over 17,000 platformers on Steam, almost all of them are garbage, amateur kitbashes. This is not one of the good ones. This laughably bad puzzle platformer has an eye watering 100 levels of awful, as you guide a penguin who seriously has his cookie stolen from him 100 times. Platformer challenges extend beyond your normal jumping around to include hanggliders and other gimmicks on some levels, all of which is implemented badly. Maybe if they just worked on one level and spent the rest of the time learning how to do graphics better than pixelcrap they might have hit more than single figure player counts. In the modern era of high quality bleeding edge PC gaming, these kinds of flat, lazy, lackluster platformers just don't cut it. Platforming is a dead genre for a reason. Even though this is "free", it failed to attract any interest for gamers here on Steam Direct for obvious reasons. This comes across as something unambitious and "simple" in terms of implementation and technical quality and depth, more like a game dev tutoria…
This game is fun. Some puzzles where a bit tricky but after a few tries i got it. I liked the power ups such as the glider, the watering can, and the jetpack. The catapult was cool too. The game doesn't take too long to finish so i recommend it.
This game was truly beautiful and changed my life. There was no better way to spend my Saturday night playing this game and its entirety. Thank you Blair Bros for this masterpiece and this heavenly experience!
