About Mushroom Musume

Once upon a time, there was a lonesome Recluse, plagued with the desire to raise a child. Wandering nearby, the strange Witch of the Woods couldn't help but overhear this wish, and with a twisted humor gifted them a pot of dirt. Help guide the Recluse through the maze of fungal parenthood, then discover how many types of person (mushroom?) your Daughter can become!

When one Daughter falls, start over and discover new corners of the world... and a treasure trove of secrets and unlockables!
Raising a child is hard, raising a mushroom is no easier. Any little thing you do can change your Daughter's path in life - will she grow into a pretty little Fly Agaric or an uncanny and indomitable Cordyceps? A parent's role is key, so take it seriously... or perhaps you'd rather relax. There's always next time, after all!The world of Mushroom Musume is fun and unusual, full of whimsical moments and unexpected dark corners. Discover shocking new outcomes and twists in familiar events by playing again as a different Daughter. Choose alternate paths, and gain a more complete picture of this odd world. Perhaps even spend time in a tale-within-a-tale and see the world through (slightly less) fungal-colored glasses...Each Daughter grown earns you Spores, which you can then spend between runs to buy permanent upgrades. Cultivate your personal garden and gain improvements for future daughters, or maybe receive a rare item from the local summoning circle instead. Featuring exclusive music, unlockable mushroom girls, in-universe notes, and more! You can find almost any color in fungi, and that's true of your Daughter too. Collect memories of Daughters past, colors, music, and more in your own personal Mushroom Almanac. With tons of treats to discover, foraging for everything could take years! We offer an extensive demo of Mushroom Musume and welcome you to try it for yourself. The demo allows you to experience a wide slice of the game without any of the planned meta-progression elements, featuring...
  • 180,000+ words of story
  • Hundreds of photographs and illustrations
  • Over an hour and a half of beautiful and haunting music
...So please, take a seat and enjoy your time spent as a mycological parent!

ACHIEVEMENT HUNTERS BEWARE: the games achievements are fully bugged and do not work. Do not buy if this is a major factor for you. Aside from this, MM is, what I consider to be, a great game. music - 8/10 gameplay - 5/10 story - 9/10 potatoes - 10/10

I REALLY wanted to give this game a postivie review but in its current state, i just cant. i saw multiple people including me reporting a bug where you cant get any achievements, and instead of fixing it the dev is working on another game similar to this. i had fun with the short time i played this, and if you dont care for achievements then it wont be a problem for you but its hard for me to recommend a game when the dev ignores the bugs in it. sorry. i hope it will be fixed so i can change my review to positive.

Mushroom Musume was a joy to play from start to finish, even after many hours of dozens of runs, I was still excited to discover new scenarios and endings up to the very end. I cannot praise the writing enough, being a perfect blend of horror, wit, and slice-of-life, making every new scene and choice worth reading, combined with a consistently stunning soundtrack, beautifully photographed backgrounds, and even light RPG mechanics. The overarching story gradually unfolding over the course of your many daughters’ lives is done incredibly well, going to unbelievable lengths and culminating in something truly spectacular. Even outside of the “main” story, everything comes together in a way that makes the world feel truly large and lived in – plenty of persistent changes and progression, unique lines of dialogue acknowledging other events or your daughter’s unique traits, and a wide range of distinct and charming NPCs that often play much larger roles than you’d think. It’s a joy to get lost in Mushroom Musume’s world and I only came to love the game more as I played, seeing the fascinating places the story would go and running into an endless amount of charming and witty scenarios. …

A combination of strange fairytale, daughter raising sim, and mystery. A run can take a few minutes or stretch longer. There's a lot I haven't figured out yet, but I enjoy my time with this and look forward to dipping back into it until I get to the bottom of things.

Simple indie game, growing a mushroom daughter. Been playing since august 2025 demo till full release more recent months. It's fun little game if your into complex story's. I always love finding the outcome of each of them. Even the mini story's within the game, a perspective how this all came to be. With all the different witches and times to make essentially what becomes "You"! It has been very calming to me especially if i want to past some time in classes. Or when I'm frustrated and need to calm down with something. The stories progress each time you go through the game, if its doing something different, or changing yourself to become better. It is hard however getting something different. You have to look deep into the game. All the daughters are unique to their personality's as well. Tending your mushroom garden also takes a big effect how the daughter behaves or turns out to be. The better you take care of the garden the better you have chances of getting something different in a certain field, i always make sure my girls are close to 100 of everything as possible if not i work up. sometimes certain traits could kill them, you don't wanna get to 0. Death is a possibility a…

its a raising game like magical princess but if it was a fungal-themed soulslike. Characters are referred to with titles instead of names, the world you explore as a mushroom daughter is mysterious and deadly, and in order to ferret out the world's secrets, you need to play many daughter's lives. also its depiction of parenting is refreshingly non-creepy, unlike most raising games. also, its music is great. the demo is also great and gives u a good look into how the game works, but the full game is so much deeper. the only real thing i can find fault w is that not all the jokes r funny and that while the in-game achievements work great, they don't show up as steam achievements
