About My Lovey-Dovey Demon

Taiki is your average guy. He’s nineteen years old, in his first year of university, and he’s just starting to learn what it means to be an adult.

During the summer vacation, Taiki goes to the countryside to stay with his grandparents alongside his siblings: the haughty, fashionable Chiharu; the tomboyish troublemaker Nene; and the sweet, shy Reza.

Taiki wants to have a relaxing summer, but his hopes are dashed when Nene breaks into their grandfather’s study, which is strictly out of bounds. Inside his study, Nene finds a treasure trove of dusty old books, including a tome full of instructions on how to summon demons.

Nene sets about this demonic summoning ritual at once, and calls upon a fearsome figure from the deepest, darkest depths of Hell…

Who just so happens to be a cute girl with pink hair and an impressive bust?!

Now Taiki’s in a real pinch. Not only does he have to look after his siblings, but he also has his demonic guest, Elisabeth, to worry about – and she’s completely besotted with him! What in the world is Taiki going to do now?!
A sweet, tame experience backed by solid, experienced writing! (7.4/10)
I’ve been slowly working my way through ebi-hime games and I keep liking them to various degrees. This one stood out to me because it’s hard to ignore a cute demon girl. This is also the latest(?) and only BxG VN during 2024 releases; and looking at the list of ebi’s BxGs, this is one of the few that I’d like to think is the most Universally-Palatable. Some of the rest might be “grim” or “seemingly-with problematic implications/premise” at first glance (which is rarely true and I wouldn’t mind them otherwise; it adds a spice of freshness to stories; but I’ll tackle at later dates). The only one that comes close in vibes with this is probably The Language of Love (TLoL), a previous BxG of ebi’s that might unnerve some people believing there’s a “gap” between MC and LI due to the art/premise (not true, anyway) That said, it does seem that ebi is (rightfully) more interested in writing Queer Stories; and I feel like this lack of personal interest towards BxG VNs inadvertently appears in the writing too; while it’s enjoyable enough to recommend, this game isn’t one to linger much in my mind personally.…

This is my third ebi-hime visual novel, and I'm not disappointed. Her writing style is refreshing; she's not afraid to use some polysyllabic words from time to time, but it doesn't devolve into purple prose. The story is calm, cute, and wholesome. If you like soothing anime, cute romances, or other ebi-hime titles, you'll enjoy this. 10 out of 10, would summon a cute demon girl again. As with most Ren'Py VNs, I played with the Self-voicing accessibility featured turned on. The game has some issues when using it, so I reported them to the developer. Hopefully, they'll be fixed soon. Also, although the game's info doesn't say so, I played with a DualSense PS5 controller without problems, since recent versions of the engine have supported it for a while now. The main plot is basically a cute supernatural summer romance. I wouldn't call it tooth-rotting fluff per se, but it's sweetness level is very high. The interactions between all the characters are what you might expect from a family that cares for each other and their unexpected guest. Everyone's voice is distinct, and their personalities play well together. Taiki is a reasonable protagonist. He's somewhat dense, cares a lot ab…

Finished My Lovey-Dovey Demon for the first time earlier this year after buying it on itch io, and i really enjoyed playing/reading it. The UI is really cute, the writing is very well done, the characters are all great, and the artwork is just so good and very high quality. I loved the story and could not put it down. Oh yeah one last and important thing, Elisabeth is super super cute, i love her as a character, especially during the conversation where she and Taiki opened up about their feelings at the abandoned school and kissed. I was actually devastated when she told Taiki she had to go back haha. Hope Taiki and Elisabeth come back at some point in a sequel. This was the first game of yours i have played, but after this, i look have played a few of your other games, and they are all so good. Can't wait for more games whether they are paid or free, i will look forward to them

My Lovey-Dovey Demon is a fantastic visual novel by ebi-hime. Elisabeth is a super-cute demon lass, (inadvertently) summoned from hell by Taiki; (with some help from sister Nene). The story is brilliantly written and thoroughly enjoyable - 13 year old Nene adds a delightful twist to the humour too. The artwork and music are excellent and I recommend My Lovey-Dovey Demon as a wonderful read!

While My Lovey-Dovey Demon is competently produced for an indie visual novel,—with its nice-looking visuals and limited-yet-excellent soundtrack—it's uninteresting story leaves something to be desired. Speaking of, the story follows the protagonist Taiki, a university student, on summer break with his three younger siblings—Chiharu, Nene, and Reza—at their grandparents house in the Japanese countryside. At the conclusion of a far-too-long hide-and-seek game, Taiki finds Nene hiding in his grandpa's off-limits study, which is full of occult tomes and paraphernalia. While trying to dissuade Nene from messing up the study, Taiki suddenly feels compelled to chant a spell from one of those tomes, accidentally summoning Elisabeth, the titular Lovey-Dovey Demon. From there, Elisabeth disproves Taiki and siblings' preconceptions of what a demon should be like with her innocent and kind-hearted disposition, and the grandparents (who were once friends with Elisabeth's mother) make her an honorary member of the family. And, for the limited time she can manifest herself in the human world, she, Taiki, and family go on a number of lighthearted slice-of-life adventures. The story hits a…
