About Mycelium
Mycelium is a turn-based RPG, set in the world of constant, non-ending war between two world capitals. A group of wanderers meet in the ancient cave system Mycelium, infamous among citizens. Glory, wisdom and treasures await adventurers there, though not everyone is able of carrying them outside. Main cast of diverse characters, driven by their conflicting motives, try to pull through and escape the Mycelium.

Gameplay and storyline influence each other equally, with mechanic elements changing from story events and fate of characters being altered by your strategic decisions. Relationships between characters are created from your actions in battle and affect their behavior in certain ways.

Character's unique abilities require completing quick mini-games, they represent direct actions your characters take to cast magic, lockpick or play lute!

The battle system has enemy precedency and you are in the defensive position, managing people, who can easily fall unconscious in merely 3 hits. Do your best to survive!

Mycelium is an example of a very good use of limited resources by the developer. While graphical fidelity is obviously not the strong suit of the game, and the amount of written dialogue isn't nowhere near enough to match larger RPGs, the core mechanics and the storyline is carried through by its solid foundations and the game is still (usually) pleasant to look at as a result of a consistent art direction and a well-picked focus on low resolution pixel art. The combat systems have quite a decent amount of depth compared to other examples in the genre of tactical strategy and are for the most part fairly well balanced and don't get stale for the duration of the game. The upgrades feel meaningful, the resource management doesn't get completely invalidated as the game goes on (although it becomes way easier once your characters get strong enough). The strongest side of Mycelium are the characters and the worldbuilding, albeit the latter leaves a lot of unresolved questions that admittedly don't really all need to be resolved. Characters interact with each other, react to situations in and out of combat. They have their own agendas, personalities and they subvert the character trope…7 found this helpful
Wow it's a cool game! The music is soothing and I like how turned-based gameplay is combined with fun minigames. Even searching a locker feels like a small riddle! The world is very rich in details and those little flashy animations are so so charming and colorful aww3 found this helpful
Added QTEs into a turn-based game before Expedition 33! Totally worth the price2 found this helpful
I finally can go further than i did my demo! I'm just in love with this game, cause usually i find myself thinking in turn based rpg only for first half an hour and then is just a cake walk Here everything is so tightly balanced that it makes every little decision really matter. I haven't died a lot but it feels like i'm living always on the edge tho when i got second squad with moon magic girl - for me it was really steep dificulty spike, but it was due to her having whopping 3 new spells that i didn't use initially>< So if you really up to the challenge and ready to git gud, then that's the way^^2 found this helpful
Don't look at my playtime, I've played a ton of hours on Itch. This is a true hidden gem. Tactics battles of Into the Breach + unique mini games and unusual subversion of game tropes of Undertale. Interesting story, unique characters with their own abilities and mini games. You get a lot for such a low price.2 found this helpful
Played demo, played on itch, played it here. Love the characters, love the setting, love the unique take on interaction with the world/combat, looking forward for more!1 found this helpful
